Michael Jackson - My Only Comment

I am not going to comment directly on the death of Michael Jackson. There is nothing that I can say that will add anything to the public discourse about his life or passing.

However, I am stunned by the amount of hypocrisy I am seeing by his fans, pundits, and media outlets. Black America, who professed their dislike and sometimes hatred of him for not being 'black enough', now praising him for being a leader of their movement. To the media outlets who delighted in showing off his antics and strange behavoir, who now run non-stop specials on how great he was. To the pundits and gossip whores who made their living attacking him, and now seek to profit from his demise. To the entertainers who shunned him, and now profess to be his best friend, stating how sad and hurt they are at his passing. To his family, who are now fighting over the scraps of his estate .....

Pathetic ....

Liked his music, but not all of it. His personal life was a mess, no matter how you look at it. It's shame he died, he was a talented person.

And, yes, all these "celebrities" that have come running out of the woodwork -- most of them it seems just to get their name out there. They couldn't have ALL been sooooo close with him. Puh-leese.

I grew up with his music. Beneath that though is a tragic figure. Applauded his leaving his father out of his will. Abuse and exploitation should not be rewarded.
