Where's What Airplane?

The flap over Air Force One flying over Manhatten for photos yesterday has turned into a huge lie fest by Obama and his cronies.

First, for those stupid idiots in the White House - the VC-25 aircraft is NOT designated Air Force One UNLESS the President is on board. When the aircraft flies without him, it is referred to as a Special Air Mission. Yet, these idiots do not refer to it as anythng but AF1.

Second - the VC-25s (there are two of them) never fly without the express permission and knowledge of the White House. The aircrafts' whole purpose is to serve as transportation for the President - does anyone actually believe it would be in the air and unavailable to Him without the White House being aware of it? There are specific procedures in place to prevent the embarrassment of the President wanting to go somewhere, and being told no, the airplane is gone.

Now, it would not have been that big a deal for Obama and his staff to admit they made a mistake by allowing the flight. The mainstream press would have instantly forgiven him, and it would be over. But Nooooooo ..... The Immaculate and his regime cannot possibly have made a mistake. They are blaming everyone, up to and including the Bush administration (I kid you not) for the incident.

Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has blamed the Bush administration, in the form of the Bush appointee who is currently running the FAA. He is calling for a hastened effort to replace that individual with a trustworthy Obama appointee.

NY Mayor Bloomberg is blaming the FAA and the military, even though his office had been made aware of the flight well in advance of it.

Obama is perfect. He cannot make a mistake. The people managing his image cannot allow anything to suggest that he or his regime is anything but perfect.

A photo-op of an airplane. Now, please.

And this from people who said no to bonuses and other such extravagance in these times.

Oh, darn, there I go again, forgetting that it doesn't apply to the administration, just the rest of us.

A photo-op for the VC-25, or any Presidential aircraft, is nothing new. They are done periodically, over a variety of backdrops, such as the Statue of Liberty, or Mount Rushmore. Why they needed new pics at this time, I have no idea.

I understand the photo-op. I understand why the public in NY weren't told ahead of time (security, safety of the aircraft). What I do not understand, and cannot condone, is why the President and his staff are so loudly condeming it (after they approved it), and starting an investigation into it (which will yield nothing, since they can't incriminate themselves). Rather than just own up to ti and explain it, they have deny, deny, deny, in order to keep up their image of perfection.
