Angels Pitcher Killed by Drunk Driver

Nick Adenhart, number three starter for the LA Angels, was killed early Thursday morning by a drunk driver. He had just pitched in his first game of the season. The 'allegedly' drunk driver has a history of drunk driving convictions, had a suspended license, and ran from the scene of the accident. Police apprehended him.

Adenhart died shortly after undergoing emergency surgery. Two others in the car were killed instantly, and a fourth person is in critical condition.

It's a terrible way for MLB to start the season. It is horrible blow to his family and his teammates.

Andrew Gallo, the drunk, should have been in jail. Now, he will go to jail for three counts of murder, unless the people who allowed him to still be on the street in the first place plea bargain down the charges.

All I saw was the headline that said he was the victim of a hit and run.

Dear Lord, the rest of the story is even worse. What a waste of any life -- any person, anywhere, any time -- when the driver should never have been out there driving a car anyway.

Thoughts and prayers to the families.
