Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) is chairperson of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Her committee will begin hearings this week on what happened in Libya. The first meeting is scheduled for Thursday. She has just announced that her inquiry will expand to include why the FBI did not notify her committee that it was investigating David Patreus' affair.
There are some practical problems to this inquiry. Patreus' resignation means he will not have to testify as head of the CIA, unless he choses to, or is subpoened by the committee. Hillary Clinton is conveniently out of the country during the first days of the hearing, and has informed the committee that she is unavailable to testify.
We will find out in short order if the Senator is going to hold a real investigation, or just participate in the Obama Administration's coverup. If Patreus does not chose to testify, she MUST compel him to do so. Him being allowed not to participate gives the Administration a huge curtain to hide behind. Since he is no longer in a position to defend himself, Democrats will blame him for anything they want to.
If she concludes the hearings without hearing testimony from Clinton, we will know it's just a smokescreen for Obama. Clinton, under oath, would have to be very careful to tell the truth - if she commits perjury and is found out, her future political goals will be toast.
Senator, at times in the past you have shown that you take your responsibilities as head of this committee seriously, to the point of asking sometimes embarrassing questions of your Dear Leader's Administration. I sincerely hope you do that this time - we deserve the truth. Even though you've managed to put this off until after the election (so there are no ramifications for Obama himself, no matter the outcome), the truth must come out.
As a control, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, headed by Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI) will also begin its own investigation, also commencing on Thursday. Lets see if the committees come up with the same results.

Libya - An Opportunity Lost?
Subtitle - how Obama's weak, do nothing, non-committal, don't want to upset our enemies, can't show any leadership, suck up Foreign Policy is dropping the ball.
The absolute incompetence being shown by our government on what is taking place in the Middle East is astounding. There hasn't been such a pathetic attempt at dealing with the world and current events since Jimmy Carter (and with the morons Clinton had as Secretaries of State, that is really saying something!).
A popular uprising against Ghaddaffi in Libya was what we've been hoping would happen for years. This uprising stood a very good chance of working, a good chance of running him out of the country or even killing him. However, it looks like it is losing steam, and the dictator and his forces appear to be winning.
The UN and European countries have been lamely discussing a no-fly zone for weeks now, one that would supposedly counter the dictator's advantage in the air. Wishy washy morons, it will take them weeks more to get around to getting close to thinking about implementing a preliminary study of a possible plan. Our esteemed Secretary of State has stated emphatically that the US will not lead any such effort, but that we will consider joining one if other countries commit to it first. How's that for Global Leadership? You've got Pentagon leadership publicly complaining about how difficult it would be for us to put up a no fly zone.
This was a golden opportunity to help cause the ousting of one of the biggest terrorist supporters in the world, a man who has arranged and sponsored the killing of Americans on numerous occasions. We could have gotten in good with the forces that would have taken over the country, perhaps gain an important ally in a country that is currently openly hostile towards our interests. Instead, we look down at our shoes, kick some dirt, and complain about how tough it is, how someone else needs to do it instead of us.
Don't get me wrong ... I know that intervening in the situations going on across the Middle East is not easy. We could very well end up on the wrong side of some of the outcomes. However, the way Obama is leading us will ensure that we are on the wrong side of EVERY outcome - because we chose not to take sides, not to help, not to use our strength and influence to guide events, leading everyone in that region to consider us weak and irrelevant.
Now, in Libya, the rebels are asking where we are. Why aren't we helping them? If they succeed in running Uncle Moh out of town, do you think they will have a good opinion of us? If Ghaddaffi wins, do you think he will think any better of us for not having intervened?
It's an amazing display of gutless, rudderless diplomacy.
3/17 Update - The Obama Administration is seeking UN approval to launch airstrikes against Ghaddaffy's forces. Some would consider this too little, too late. I consider it a massive attempt by Obama at CYA. They know that UN approval will take forever. They also know that, at least according to news reports, it is too late for any such strikes to turn the tide in favor of the rebels. I suspect that there is no intention by Obama to launch any strikes, that this is merely a diplomatic maneuver to try and shift the blame onto the UN for not supporting the rebels. I can see him standing in front of his teleprompter, telling the world that he wanted to help the rebels, but was prevented by UN (in)action.
3/21 Update - OK, we've fired a bunch of cruise missiles at Libyan Air Defence installations and other forces. The UN actually passed a resolution that said something. France and Britain stepped up. I may end up eating my words on this one - we'll see. It remains to be seen if this is actually a good moment for Obama and our country. So far, he still seems to want everyone/anyone else to take the lead and responsibility, and he's just in a yes-man support role. However, going this far has surprised me - I really didn't think he had it in him. I will keep an open mind on this for a while. Let's see if he follows through ...

Pissy-Leaks - Why Obama's Outrage Now?

This latest round of Wikileaks has caused the White House and State Department to finally try and get tough with the a*hole who is publishing all of these illegally obtained documents. Hillary Clinton is in full damage control on the airwaves, and flying around overseas like crazy trying to smooth diplomatic feelings over the contents of some of the leaked communications. Eric Holder has come out and sternly stated that if any criminal activity is connected with the leaks, his DoJ will fully invesitigate it. IF?????? Mr. Holder, do you not know that espionage is a crime?
Where have these morons, and their leader His Higness Obama, been? Where was the outrage over the previous leaks, which were centered around defense related documents? Why haven't they captured and jailed the accused rapist who runs the site? Why haven't they killed the site itself? (The technology to do that is certainly available - just ask the Chinese).
The answer is pretty simple, and it is disturbing. The previous leaks actually benefitted Obama and his policies. Anything that embarrasses America's military and the previous Administration is welcome. Those leaks must have had the White House laughing their butts off - and they made no attempt at all to curtail them.
What's changed with this latest round of leaks? Something rather big, it turns out. The majority of the State Department documents leaked have been produced by the Obama Administration and Clinton's Department of State - their efforts, their policies, their personnel. This time, the leaks embarass THEM, and it must be dealt with. Unfortunately for our country, they knew this was coming, they had plenty of warning, and they did nothing to stop it. Now they are in damage control, and not doing a very good job of it.
Some of what I've heard in this round of leaks is actually good information to have out. In no way do I condone the theft, but some of what has come out so far is good for the world to know (a little bit of it, anyway). Some bolsters US stance in the world. Some shows the incompetence of Obama and his policies, and the folks he chose to implement them. They're not laughing now that the egg is on their face, rather than across the Potomac.
They need to find this criminal, get him extradited here, try him, and lock him up for the rest of his life. Espionage. They need to find the person in the State Department that stole all of these documents and gave them to this jerk - and that person needs to rot in jail for the rest of their life. Someone needs to find out how documents classified as SECRET are being swiped by the thousands and provided to someone who uses them to attack our country.
Obama's Administration hasn't been too concerned with stopping this. After all, liberals rejoice in whistle-blowing and illegal information leaks. People who break laws to dump private information, no matter what the consequences, have always been heroes of the Far Left. Now that one of these leakers has hit the hero of the Far Left square in the 'nads, it will be interesting to see the reaction.
Update - Facts are coming to light that indicate Obama and his minions aren't that bothered by the leaks this time, either. The internet servers that mirror the leaker's web site (the locations from which pepople in the Western Hemisphere see the web site) are located in the US and owned by Amazon.com! The DNS that services the site, and the domain name registrar are also located in the US. This means that the DoJ has jurisdiction, and could shut the website down anytime they want to.
The government has proven it has thispower already, when it shut down multiple web sites accused of pirating copyrighted materials last week. They shut down the sites and siezed the domain names.
Apparently, Obama's government thinks protecting a Lady Gaga recording from being reproduced illegally is far more important than stopping this incredible leak of secret government communications and other documents. Says a lot about the Far Left's priorities, doesn't it?
Update II - I saw a comment from John Bolton, former US Ambassador to the UN. His supposition is why should we believe all of those leaked documents? There is nothing that would prevent this criminal and his buddies from throwing in a few fake ones. If they have digital copies of the originals, forging more to say whatever they want would be easy. Hidden amongst all the thousands of other ones, who would know? Their purpose is to embarass and damage the US and its allies - why not add a few fakes ones with really controversial stuff in them to stoke the fires a bit?

HIllary Clinton Is Running Obama's DoJ?
Hillary Clinton, in Ecuador, gave out the following information during an interview with a local journalist:
Now, there are several things wrong with this. First, there has been no announcement from the White House, Eric Holder, or the Department of Justice regarding the filing of any lawsuit against Arizona. The last official statement indicated from them was that Holder was looking at Arizona's law to determine if there was any merit in filing suit.
Second, why in the hell is this coming from Hillary Clinton, the Secretary of State?
Thirdly, why is the first notification from the Federal Government that there will be a lawsuit being made to a local news organization on another continent?
Just another example of how FUBAR this man and his regime truly are ....

Where in the World is Hillary Clinton?

Anyone else out there have any idea what our esteemed Secretary of State is up to, or where in the world she is? With the Obama Regime's raging need to suck up to every dictator and bad guy in the world, you would think she'd be front and center in the news on a daily basis. I guess they're still pissed that she dared to oppose him for the Democrat nomination, and keeping such a publicity junkie out of the limelight is probably the greatest punishment they could force on her.
Update - Now then ... I don't want to give anyone the impression that I really care about Hillary ... quite the contrary. I just find it amusing to see all of the infighting inside the Democrat Party between Obama's far left wing kook base and the more moderate folks.

Dana Rohrabacher, Republican Hero of the Day

Hillary Clinton spent a good portion of her day testifying before the House Foreign Affairs committee today.
Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) asked her specifically about Vice President Dick Cheney's request that more CIA documents and reports be declassified and released, so that the American public can have a complete picture of CIA interrogation techniques - a request that the Obama regime has so far ignored.
Clinton used the question as a chance to take a stab at the Vice President, garnering laughter from Democrat members of the committee.
Rep. Rohrabacher verbally bitch slapped her, shaking her right down to her fat ass.
This is great, and well worth the view. THIS is how Republicans should deal with the Obama regime - don't try and go with the flow, don't try and get along - fight for what you believe in, and let America know you are fighting.
Rep. Rohrabacher has been in the House since 1989, and represents a large portion of Orange County. He is my hero of the day!
By the way - Clinton never did answer the question, and the Democrat committee chairman cut Rep. Rohrabacher off before he could press her again.

Hillary Was Under Sniper Fire in Bosnia - Proof
The folks at barelyPolitical.com have unearthed previously unseen video that proves that Hillary Clinton and her daughter Cheesy did come under sniper fire when arriving in Bosnia during her first presidency back in 1996. You might remember the flap back during the presidential campaign when she made this claim, and the nasty vast right wing conspiracy attacked her for lying about it. Anyway, take this, you right wingers ....
Thought you Clinton haters out there might enjoy a laugh ..... they're hard to come by these days!

I'd Like to Have Hillary's Makeup Concession

Ok, I make no apologies for being a Clinton hater. However, it sure would be nice to have Hillary's makeup concession these days. The company that does has to be getting rich. Above, a photo of her at a recent press conference, all made up and primped for the cameras. Below, caught by cameras without the benefit of hours in the makeup chair .....

Both of these photos were shot within the past six months ...
What surprises me is that the pounds of plaster they apply to her face as makeup doesn't crack and fall off under camera lights, or when she's out in the weather. I wonder how many makeup artists travel with her (at taxpayer's expense, of course) when she goes out on the road to impress all those foreign dignitaries.
Looking at this, I really don't blame Bill for cruising for interns ....
