Last Saturday afternoon, in Washington, D.C., an aide to Nancy Pelosi visited the Bishop of the Catholic cathedral in D.C.

He told the Cardinal that Nancy Pelosi would be attending the next day's Mass, and he asked if the Cardinal would kindly point out Pelosi to the congregation and say a few words that would include calling Pelosi a saint.

The Cardinal replied, "No. I don't really like the woman, and there are issues of conflict with the Catholic Church over certain of Pelosi's views."Pelosi's aide then said, "Look, I'll write a check here and now for a donation of $100,000 to your church if you'll just tell the congregation you see Pelosi as a saint."

The Cardinal thought about it and said, "Well, the church can use the money, so I'll work your request into tomorrow's sermon."

As Pelosi's aide promised, Pelosi appeared for the Sunday worship and seated herself prominently at the forward left side of the center aisle.As promised, at the start of his sermon, the Cardinal pointed out that ex-Speaker Pelosi was present.

The Cardinal went on to explain to the congregation, "While Pelosi's presence is probably an honor to some, the woman is not numbered among my personal favorite personages. Some of her most egregious views are contraryto tenets of the Church, and she tends to flip-flop on many other issues.Nancy Pelosi is a petty, self-absorbed hypocrite, a thumb-sucker, and a nit-wit. Nancy Pelosi is also a serial liar, a cheat, and a thief. I must say, Nancy Pelosi is the worst example of a Catholic I have ever personally witnessed. She married for money and is using her wealth to lie to the American people. She also has a reputation for shirking her Congressional obligations both in Washington and in California in order to further her own far left wing agenda. The woman is simply not to be trusted."

The Cardinal concluded, "But, when compared to President Obama, Nancy Pelosi is a saint."

Pigs Lining Up At The Trough, Part Deaux

Nancy Pelosi uses a USAF jet to fly back and forth to San Francisco. As Speaker of the House, she is entitled to use military transportation. She has done so for trips related directly to her job (representing the San Francisco area). She has also done so for strictly personal visits and for campaign visits. Her taxi of choice is the C-37, military version of the Gulfstream G-5. This large executive class transport is designed to get corporate big wigs to their destination quickly and in style. She likes it so much that she tried to add three additional ones to the USAF fleet at Andrews, just so she could not be stopped by one not being available at her every whim (an effort that was defeated after an enraged public got wind of it).

In recently disclosed expense reports, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, it has come to light that she has racked up over $2,000,000 in expenses flying this jet back and forth to San Francisco, in additon to $100,000 in catering bills for the flights. $100,000 in catering? What is she eating, Dom Perignon and Beluga Caviar?

While she is legally entitled to do this by her position, I think it is the height of arrogance for her to continue to abuse this priviledge. She could fly commercial - even with first class tickets, it wouldn't come anywhere close to the taxpayer money she has wasted.

America, this is what your Democrat leadership thinks of you.

BTW - when her office was contacted about these figures, their only comment was that previous Speakers of the House had done it. Yeah, that makes it OK ....

More Pelosi Porkulus Exposed

Rep. Mark Kirk (R-IL) and Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) have listed 11 pork projects paid for by the $787 billion porkulus bill as examples of how our tax dollars are being flushed down the toilet by this Democrat controlled Congress. These examples are in addition to the ones I listed in an earlier post:

- 1.9 million for water taxis in Pleasure Beach, CT. Congress approved the money after a fire destroyed the bridge to Pleasure Beach, but the area already is accessible by foot and rowboats.

- 3.8 million for an urban art trail in Rochester, NY.

- 3.1 million for upgrades to a boat owned by the NY State Museum. The boat dates back to 1921 and was originally used in canals.

- 3 million for bicycle racks in Georgetown -- the Washington, DC, neighborhood that is one of the wealthiest areas in the country.

- 1.5 million to improve the streetscape in the six blocks surrounding a downtown Detroit casino.

- 578,000 for fighting homelessness in Union, NY. According to a local news report, the town never asked for the stimulus money and did not even have a program through which to administer the money. The town supervisor said he wasn't aware of a homelessness problem in the town.

- 550,000 for a skateboard park in Pawtucket, RI.

- 500,000 for fish food in Missouri, to help defray the costs for state fish farmers.

- 400,000 for renovations to a vacant building in Jal, NM.

- 380,350 to encourage landowners in West Virginia to grow shiitake mushrooms and ginseng.

- 90,000 for a communal kitchen in Watsonville, CA. The shared kitchen is meant to help food service entrepreneurs.

So that's about 16.5 million of our dollars pissed away on things that are certainly not needed, and in most cases not wanted.

Now, if you think that's bad, just wait until Obamacare is passed ... it will take page after page of single spaced typing to list all the pork that will be contained in the final bill.

Just to be fair, this isn't just a Democrat problem - abuse of pork is truly one of the few things that is bi-partisan in Washington. Rep. Kirk, who is running for the Senate seat vacated by Obama, was guilty of landing more than 30,000,000 for 19 pork projects in his home district, including a planetarium and a religious outreach program.

Slamming Obama, Reid, and Pelosi for the wasteful use of our tax dollars as a basis for the 2010 mid-term elections is fair game. They ought to be called out for what they are doing. But ... (and it hurts me to say this) ... Republicans doing the call outs really shouldn't be the ones who are just as guilty.

- $30,000,000 for a baseball spring traiing facility to be used by the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies

- $430,000 to repair a bridge in Wisconsin that carries fewer than 10 cars a day

- $11,000,000 to build a bridge to connect Microsoft's two Redmond campuses, currently seperated by a road

- $800,000 for the John Murtha Airport in Johnstown Pennsylvania, to add a second runway. The airport serves an average of 20 passengers a day

- $219,000 for Syracuse University to study the sex habits of freshman women

- $2,500,000 in stimulus checks sent to deceased persons, subsequently lost, stolen, or cashed by unintended persons

- $2,300,000 for the US Forestry Service to breed large numbers of bugs, including such winners as the Asian Longhorned Beetle, the Wooly Adelgid, and the Nun Moth

- $3,400,000 for a tunnel for turtles to use to cross a road in Lake Jackson Florida (I'm sure the wildlife is smart enough to read the signs directing them to the opening!)

- $9,380,000 to refurbish a railroad station in lancaster County Pennsylvania - a station that has not been used in over 30 years

Why Should We Trust These Criminals?

This past week, a secret internal July report from the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct (the Ethics Committee) was leaked to the press. The report had been 'hacked' off a junior employee's computer while it was connected to a non-secure network. The employee was fired.

The report contained the names and details of current (for July) ethics investigations underway in the House. It named over 30 House members, and several staff members. Some of these names had been previously known from other public disclosure, but some were not. At the top of the list - John Murtha (D-PA).

The outcry from House leadership has not been over the large number of members under investigation, but over the fact their secret report became public knowledge.

I am amazed, but not surprised. These career politicians, led by Lunatic in Chief Pelosi, do not want anyone to know who is dirty, especially when most of the names on the list are Democrat.

The American public should be outraged that such information, concerning legal and ethical violation investigations on their elected officials, are being held secret. Don't we deserve to know everyone who is being investigated and for what - not just the few Republicans that Pelosi and her lap dogs 'out' in press conferences?

Hey Mr. Obama - where is that promise of yours to be the most open administration in US history?

Pelosi Comes Out in Favor of Protestors

Nancy Pelosi has come out and publicly stated her support and admiration for people who protest and speak their minds.



The only problem is that this was support for folks protesting against President Bush, not President Obama. Once again, the left can't stand to have its own tactics used against it! Hypocrite Bitch!

Pelosi Buys Herself a Taxi

Nancy Pelosi, upset that she occasionally can't get hold of a USAF Gulfstream to jet herself around the country, instructed her minions to insert funding for three of these jets into the House Defense Appropriations Bill. These were not requested by, nor are they wanted by, the Air Force.

The military version of the Gulfsream 550, designated C-37A, is just about the highest end business jet that can be bought. Although the military versions aren't decked out with the most oppulent equipment packages, they still cost about $65,000,000 apiece.

C-37s are used to transport VIPs, typically civilian government officials, around the country and the world. It is a favorite with members of Congress and the Administration, because of its luxury and long range. Each flight is catered, and served by a USAF serviceperson acting as stewardess.

The Air Force has 10 C-37s currently. Four are based at Andrews AFB, for use by members of the government. One each are based at Hickam AFB in Hawaii, and Chievres AB in Belgium (for NATO support). Three are based out of MacDill AFB in Florida (for CentCOM support), and one has been noted carrying civilian registration while operating in Southwest Asia. The Navy has 5 C-37s, used for VIP transportation at various locations.

Wording inserted into the bill authorizing funding for these aircraft specifically stipulates that they are to be based at Andrews. This, in essence, makes sure they are not used by anyone other than members of Congress or the Administration.

In addition, funding was inserted for a C-40, the military version of the 737 airliner. Also to be based at Andrews, this $70,000,000 aircraft is popular with Congress for their overseas junkets, because of its luxury and VIP sleeping areas. Congressional porkers love to pack their spouses (or mistresses) into this luxury bus for 'fact finding' junkets at tax payer expense. Again, the USAF did not request or want this aircraft.

Pelosi has been known for her tirades when these aircraft aren't avalable for her personal use. So, she has now made sure that her royal ass has one of these birds to cart it back and forth to San Francisco whenever she feels like it. How arrogant ... when Congress and the Administration are cutting critical items out of the defense budget, these assholes blow our tax dollars on this perk for themselves.

I say, let them fly coach like the rest of us poor peasants.....

Update - Pentagon and Senate opposition to this purchase is exploding. Along with Republican members of the House, Senators are lining up to voice their opposition, and it looks like the purchase will be blocked in the Senate.

Update II - VICTORY! American People 1, Pelosi 0. Rulers of the House concended defeat Monday as pressure about this continued to rise, agreeing to remove funding for the additional jets from the Defense bill.

Pelosi Thinks We Are Nazis

Here is Nancy Pelosi, yesterday, at an appearance at a San Francisco area hospital. She gets a question from a reporter about grass roots oppostion to Obamacare. Her response is a mixmash of talking points, and an incredible statement that gives us a window into her soul:

This woman is third in line of succession to the office of President. She is speaker of the House of Representatives, a VERY powerful position. She is a key component of Democrat efforts to reform this country in their image. This is what she thinks of anyone who doesn't agree with her.

The Fairness doctrine ... Pelosi thinks anyone who doesn't agree with her is a Nazi ... Obama is gathering information on ordinary citizens that disagree with his policies ... Democrats call Obamacare protestors 'an unruly, violent mob' ... Looks to me like the Democrats are acting a lot like Nazis themselves. This is scary, folks ....

Update - The message has gone out from Obama, Pelosi, and the DNC - equate anyone who disagrees with them to Nazis ... Rep. Brian Baird (D-WA) has cancelled his town hall meetings, and will instead hold a 'phone-in' meeting (which by the way, controls who is allowed to call in and ask questions). Explaining his reasoning, he said "What we're seeing right now is close to Brown Shirt tactics. I mean that very seriously." So, if you disagree with the left, you are a Nazi, according to official Democrat doctrine. How does that make you feel, America? Your government wants to take away your right to disagree with it. Open your mouth in anything but tribute to Obama, and you're in trouble!

Update II - The Dems themselves are trying hard to build this Nazi portrayal of Republicans. A black man was photographed bringing a poster portraying Obama as Hitler into the back door of a town hall meeting, up in Detriot I think it was. The local news showed the poster, and decried the evil Rebpulican mob tactics. Someone researched that photo, and it turns out the black man was an Obama campaign worker.

San Francisco ... home of fruits, nuts, flakes ... and Nancy Pelosi. How else can you explain stimulus money, distributed by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), being channeled to these San Fran based entities:

Frameline - gay and lesbian film house, received $50,000 for general operating expenses. One of this house's recent offerings was "Thundercrack".

CounterPULSE - dance hall that puts on programs such as "Perverts Put Out".

The Symmetry Project - $25,000 to produce stuff like this:

The NEA has a huge list of grants it has distributed as part of the National Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Obama's porkulus bill). Here, on their own website, is the list of projects funded through this act alone:

I'm sorry, but what is $50,000 for the Alabama Folklife Association going to do for our economic recovery? $50,000 for Alonzo King's Lines Ballet? $50,000 for Architecture for Humanity? Gilmore International Keyboard Festival? $25,000 for Milkweed Editions? $50,000 for the Museum of Glass? There are hundreds of these entries, and all the money came out of the porkulus bill. It is amazing to see how many recipients were in San Francisco - Pelosi's constituents must be very happy with her. $80,000,000 in total out of the porkulus bill wasted on crap like this.

The NEA shells out a tremendous amount of our tax dollars each and every year to support many different types of art programs. How much? Take a look at this list, provided by the NEA itself, of grants JUST for dance companies made in the first part of 2009:

In this time of economic meltdown, where all Americans are being urged by Obama to sacrifice for the common good, why are we shelling out this huge pile of money, instead of using it where it would actually do some economic good?

However, they do not have a right to do it with my tax dollars. Let the people who appreciate such artistic expressions support it themselves.....

Congress Having a Party, On Us

Under the leadership of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, members of Congress have increased their foreign travel expenses by over 50% since the Democrats took control of Congress in 2006. Democrats as well as Republicans are guilty of wasting our money on these junkets, but the higher profile, more expensive trips certainly seem to be taken by Dems.

Pelosi herself led a delegation of Dems to Afghanistan this past February. They spent less than a day on the ground in Kabul, before flying home. Prior to getting to Kabul, the group made an 8 day rest stop in Italy, where she and her bunch of thieves racked up almost $58,000 in hotel and meal bills - all paid for by the US taxpayers. This doesn't include the cost of the USAF planes and personnel that had to serve as taxis for the trip.

Sen. Daniel Inhouye (D-HI) took half a dozen Senators and their spouses on a junket to the Paris Air Show this year. They flew on a USAF 737 transport plane ($5700 an hour to operate). They stayed at a $460 per room per night hotel in Paris during the trip. They had a dinner party at the US embassy, and a cocktail party at the Eiffel Tower. All of it was paid for by the taxpayer. What exactly this trip was supposed to accomplish is not clear.

The cost of flying a small group of lawmakers overseas (on a G-20 class aircraft) is about $150,000. Larger groups use the USAF version of the 757, which costs $12,000 a hour to operate.

How dare these people tell us that we have to sacrifice to help the country out of the recession. How dare they raise our taxes, just to throw money away in activity like this. Democrat, Republican - I don't care - these thieves ought to be thrown in jail.

Like Thieves in the Night ...

The Cap and Trade bill has over 1200 pages in it. Waxman/Pelosi kept it hidden until the last possible moment before the vote last Friday, to prevent the public and members of the House from knowing what was in it. They tried to prevent anyone from speaking about it on the floor before the vote. Waxman even delivered a 300+ page amendment to it to the House 'inbox' at 3:00am Friday morning, and then didn't tell anyone it was there. This was all done on purpose, to make sure no one knew what was in the bill before the vote.

Details are starting to come out. Two gems that surfaced today:

Once the bill is passed into law, IMMEDIATELY California building standards will become nationwide standards. Every new home constructed will have to meet CA building codes, especially in regards to energy consumption/efficiency. This will add 20-25% to the cost of every new house built after passage of the bill. Even if individual states do not hold to those codes, the Federal government will have the right to come in and fine any builder and any new owner that does not comply. The same ridicuous environmental rules written by California's eco-Nazis, the rules that have bankrupted that state, will be placed on top of all of us.

Sales of existing homes will be affected by environmental rules as well. Before you can sell an existing home, you will have to have a federally licensed inspector come out and give it an energy 'rating'. This will encompass insulation, age of HVAC units, windows, doors, capacity of water tank - everything that could possibly be classified as effecting the environment will be assessed. Your house will be given a rating based upon what the inspector determines. The rating, along with all the inspection documentation MUST be provided to any potential buyer. So, if you have a house that is older than 2-3 years, you're going to take a major hit on your property's value.

There are 1200 pages of crap like this buried in this bill. The American public won't stand for it. The majority of Congress won't vote for it, Dems included. This is why these slimy bastards hid it from view until it had to be voted on.

House Dems Block Investigation of ACORN

Despite earlier promises made by Democrat leadership of the House (Pelosi, et al), Democrat leadership has now announced there will be no investigation of ACORN. The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now has long been tied to voter fraud during local and national elections. Members of ACORN have been caught signing up non-existant voters, signing up illegal voters, paying for votes, and interferring with Republican vote efforts. These are the same folks who tried to sign up the Dallas Cowboys roster for voter registration as residents of Las Vegas.

Dem Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), a radical left winger who is leader of the Congressional Black Caucus, once called for investigation, but has now backtracked and said there will be no investigation, saying that the decision had been made by 'the powers that be', but refusing to identify those powers.

ACORN is pushing hard to be an integral part of the 2010 census. Why does that matter? Information collected during the census determines a lot of very important things, including Congressional district mapping. Fooling around with the data collected would have a direct impact on the makeup of our government, where funds are distributed, etc. ACORN wants to be the data collection point - giving them a perfect opportunity to mess with the data in any way they see fit.

Unbelievable ...

House Dems Block Pelosi/CIA Lie Investigation

Today, House Democrats defeated a measure brought up by Republicans that would have created a bi-partisan congressional panel that would investigate Pelosi's claims that the CIA had lied to her during briefings on national security matters, including enhanced interrogation techniques.

Pelosi has had so many different stories about this over the past few weeks, it is hard to tell which lie is her latest. One day, she changed her story three times.

If she is correct and the CIA misled her, she has a duty to hold an investigation to get to the bottom of it - lying to Congress is a serious offense, just ask Pelosi or Reid.

Or, if she wasn't present at the briefings, or she wasn't presented with enough information (both stories from her over the past two weeks), then she is incompetent.

Or, if she is lying, and the CIA is telling the truth, then she has committed an offense that should cost her the speakership, and also should bring impeachment proceedings. Past Speakers of the House have lost their positions for far less than that.

Once again, if the Democrats have nothing to hide, nothing to fear, and want the truth to come out, why do they continue to block all investigations into their behavoir? The answer is pretty obvious ... they want to keep their jobs and positions of power at any cost.

This is going to catch up with them ....


Update - at a press conference this morning (Friday), Pelosi defended her remarks about the CIA lying to her:

"I have made the statement that I'm going to make on this. I don't have any more to say on this. I stand by my comments. And what we are doing is staying on our course and not being distracted from it." - Nancy Pelosi, 5/22/09

In other words, she is telling the mainstream media to drop it and move on so she doesn't have to defend herself anymore.

House Dems Block Campaign Finance Ethics Investigation

House of Representative Democrats, led by Nancy Pelosi, have blocked, for the eighth time this year, a largely Republican effort to launch an ethics investigation into campaign finance irregularities.

Three House Democrats, John Murtha (D-PA), Jim Moran (D-VA), and Peter Visclosky (D-IN) are under scrutinuy for the millions of dollars their campaigns received from companies and lobbyists that they steered lucrative federal contracts to. I don't know much about Moran or Visclosky, but Murtha has been embroiled in kickbacks, payoffs, and shakedowns for many years, even being caught on tape by the FBI trying to extort money in exchange for political favors.

Murtha is a Pelosi lap dog. There is no way she will allow any inquiry into his actions to take place. Why is she blocking? If they are innocent, then the Democrat run ethics committee will exonerate them and clear the matter up. But, they are guilty, everyone knows it, and the only way to keep them in Congress and out of jail is to keep the investigation from happening at all.

Where is all the B.S. from the Dems about the Republican Culture of Corruption, their key talking point during the 2006 Congressional elections? Don't hear much from them now about that, do we?

Oh, by the way ... this is the same John Murtha who accused our Marines, in print and on video, or rape and murder in Iraq. The same John Murtha who refuses to apologize now that those Marines have been proven innocent of any wrongdoing.

Pelosi Panders to Illegals

In a recent address to a group of mostly Hispanic legal and illegal immigrant workers in a San Francisco church, Nancy Pelosi told them that enforcement of US immigration laws was un-American.

"Who in this country would not want to change a policy of kicking in doors in the middle of the night and sending a parent away from their families?"

"It must be stopped....What value system is that? I think it's un-American. I think it's un-American."

"We have to have a change in policy and practice and again ... I can't say enough, the raids must end. The raids must end.

"You are special people. You're here on a Saturday night to take responsibility for our country's future. That makes you very, very patriotic."

So, according to the 3rd person in line of succession to the office of President it is un_American to enforce our laws. The ICE raids, to which she is referring, which round up illegal workers at businesses and deport them, must be stopped. The midnight raids on homes to round up parents and haul them off to jail (which does not happen, by the way) are terrible and must be stopped.

She believes that illegal immigrants are patriotic, and the future of our country. This is certainly the Democrat outlook on immigration. They believe that the 12-15 million illegals in this country are all Democrats, and guaranteed to vote a straight party ticket, if the Dems can just keep voter fraud legislation from happening. Dems want more illegals from south of our border - the more the better - more guaranteed votes to keep them in power.

The Speaker of the House is openly calling for our immigration laws to be broken. This woman is an embarrassment to our country, and she needs to be kicked out of office as soon as possible.

And oh, by the way ... Does anyone else notice how Democrats love to use churches, particularly minority churches, to deliver their messages? As soon as a Republican does it, however, they start screaming about the violation of separation of church and state .....
