Rosa Brooks, former columnist for the Los Angeles Times, is changing addresses. She will now be part of the Obama administration, assigned as assistant to Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Michele Flournoy.
This woman is about as big a far left looney tune as there is. She's used her LA Times position to constantly attack the Bush Administration on absolutely everything. She's in favor of a government bailout of the newspaper industry. During the Clinton administration, she was an advisor to Harold Koh, the vehement Anti-American who is set to become the State Department's chief counsel. She worked for that lunatic George Soros. She has used her column to attack Isreal and promote Hamas as the peace loving victims of the Jewish state.
She thinks NATO was wrong to offer membership to former Soviet satellite states, that it has contributed to Russia's instability.
She is a journalist (well, at least what passes for journalist these days). She has no experience in Defense matters, so why in the hell is she getting a job at the Pentagon? Because she's a far left nut job, she will get a security clearance, and she'll have a direct pipeline into the Obama White House to report on everything that is going on in the Puzzle Palace.
This is a real danger of the Obama regime - they are quickly and quitely placing their left wing loonies into mid and lower level positions throughout Washington - positions that do not require Congressional hearings or approval. These people, who have no qualifications except for their political views, are in perfect position to do the most damage to our country - unknown, in positions of power.
I thought His Highness promised an open administration, one that doesn't hide anything from the public. What a liar......
Update - In her parting column for the LA Times, dated April 9, Brooks called for direct government (financial) support for public media, and government licensing of news services. She wants to give the government the same control over news media that Geithner now has over the CEOs and companies he has forced bailout money on.
Suppose someone in the Obama administration, presumably the FCC, decides that they're not going to give Rush Limbaugh a license to broadcast, for whatever reason. Suppose the Treasury decides to remove the CEO of Fox News and replace him with someone they prefer, like the head of NBC?
Almost every aspect of the First Amendment is under vicious attack by the left nutjobs, and our Democrat controlled federal government.

She'll be an Assistant? And I don't believe that job is a glorified secretarial job. So, again -- qualifications don't matter, just outlandish opinions evidently.
What is this headline on Fox about Texas going to secede? Don't y'all try that every so often?
Yeah, I saw the headlines about what Gov. Perry said in San Antonio. I think the headlines made more out of it than what it was. However, it might not be such a bad idea the way things are going. We are the only state that was an independent country prior to statehood (not counting Hawaii - not sure what they were).
The only problem with going out on our own is how to pick up all the fruits, flakes, and nuts in Austin and ship them to the left coast. For such a conservative state, our capital is a hotbed of left wingers.
