Serves Congress Right!

Everyone's heard about Roger Clemons, Steroids, and Congress.

The judge presiding over Clemon's perjury trial declared a mistrial on Day 2. The prosecution ignored the judge's order, and presented evidence to the jury that had been ruled inadmissable. This was either gross incompletence on the prosecutor's part, or they did it on purpose to end this sham of a trial. I don't know which ... we'll see when the government decides whether to retry the Rocket.

I don't know if Clemons did steroids or not. Probably so, given what we've heard. I don't care. It's up to MLB to deal with this, if they care to. It's up to the appropriate law enforcement agencies to file charges against Clemons if he is accused of anything specifically illegal involving steroids.

My question is why the hell was Congress involved?

The answer is the Spanish Inquisition mentality that Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) took with his precious committee chairmanship, given to him by Nancy Pelosi after Dems took control of Congress in 2006. Waxman went through a laundry list of people and organizations he wanted to attack, and he used his position and committee to do it with.

His tactic was to drag people in to testify on a given subject, and then try to trap the poor suckers into saying something wrong. First thing you know, the 'criminal' is being hauled up on perjury charges for lying to Congress. Didn't matter if the subject was actually accused of committing a crime, Waxman worked them around into a position where he could charge them.

All Waxman did was cause a lot of people trouble, and waste a lot of Congress' time and taxpayer's money carrying out his personal vendettas. It was a gross abuse of power, and a textbook example of official oppression. He ought to be hauled in front of a judge and jury, and found guilty of stealing from the American public.

How many millions of our dollars have been wasted on this? Three years of investigations, 100 law enforcement officers involved, ruining a man's finances and reputation ... and for what? So the Waxman Inquisition can hang a skin on his wall?

Rep. Michael Burgess, Republican Hero of the Day

Meet Dr. Michael Burgess (R-TX), a practicing medical doctor and Texas' Congressional Representative from the 26th District. Dr. Burgess is a conservative, and as a medical doctor, has a perspective unlike almost everyone else in Congress. He has, and continues, to experience our health care system firsthand, unlike idiots like Henry Waxman and Nancy Pelosi. Dr. Burgess is a Republican member of the House Energy and Commerce committee, run by Waxman. This committee reviewed the House health care reform bill (obviously, since Waxman was the primary author of the bill).

Dr. Burgess addressed the committee, challenging Waxman's lies. Suprisingly, he got it all out before Waxman cut him off.

Dr. Burgess has also lended his expertise on news interviews.

Dr. Burgess tried to introduce amendments to the health care bill that would address defensive medicine - the practice of practicing medicine to defend ones's self against litigation. Waxman shot down the amendment - personal injury attorneys are against any such tort reform, and they are very heavy Democrat contributors.

Like Thieves in the Night ...

The Cap and Trade bill has over 1200 pages in it. Waxman/Pelosi kept it hidden until the last possible moment before the vote last Friday, to prevent the public and members of the House from knowing what was in it. They tried to prevent anyone from speaking about it on the floor before the vote. Waxman even delivered a 300+ page amendment to it to the House 'inbox' at 3:00am Friday morning, and then didn't tell anyone it was there. This was all done on purpose, to make sure no one knew what was in the bill before the vote.

Details are starting to come out. Two gems that surfaced today:

Once the bill is passed into law, IMMEDIATELY California building standards will become nationwide standards. Every new home constructed will have to meet CA building codes, especially in regards to energy consumption/efficiency. This will add 20-25% to the cost of every new house built after passage of the bill. Even if individual states do not hold to those codes, the Federal government will have the right to come in and fine any builder and any new owner that does not comply. The same ridicuous environmental rules written by California's eco-Nazis, the rules that have bankrupted that state, will be placed on top of all of us.

Sales of existing homes will be affected by environmental rules as well. Before you can sell an existing home, you will have to have a federally licensed inspector come out and give it an energy 'rating'. This will encompass insulation, age of HVAC units, windows, doors, capacity of water tank - everything that could possibly be classified as effecting the environment will be assessed. Your house will be given a rating based upon what the inspector determines. The rating, along with all the inspection documentation MUST be provided to any potential buyer. So, if you have a house that is older than 2-3 years, you're going to take a major hit on your property's value.

There are 1200 pages of crap like this buried in this bill. The American public won't stand for it. The majority of Congress won't vote for it, Dems included. This is why these slimy bastards hid it from view until it had to be voted on.

Republican Traitors of the Day

Eight Republicans sided with Obama/Pelosi/Waxman on Friday's vote. These eight people passed the legislation - if they had voted with their Republican colleagues, the bill would have failed.

Thank these folks who have screwed us all. Thank them by throwing them out of office...

Mary Bono Mack (CA)
Mike Castle (IL)
Mark Steven Kirk (IL)
Leonard Lance (NJ)
Frank LoBiondo (NJ)
John McHugh (NY)
Dave Reichert (WA)
Chris Smith (NJ)

It would be very interesting to review the contribution lists for these eight, to see who bought their votes.

Update - Courtesy of OpenSecrets.org, 7 of the 8 received large campaign contributions in 2008 from liberal eco- groups, such as the Sierra Club. Now we know who bought the votes ....

Largest Tax Increase in History to Become Law This Friday

Does that surprise you? Our left wing kook run government is counting on it.

Henry Waxman's climate change bill is scheduled to be voted on this Friday, the 26th. The contents of the bill, all 1200 pages of it, still have not been made available for members of the House or the general public to view. This bill has been crafted in secret by Waxman and a handful of other left wing eco-nazis. The cornerstone of the bill is Cap and Trade.

By ramming it through the House in this fashion, Pelosi, Waxman, and Obama prevent the Congress and the Public from knowing what is happening until after it's too late to do anything about it. These people are like a bunch of roaches - they do their work hidden, out of sight. Open the lid to the trashcan and shine a light on them, and they scatter. That's what they are afraid of - if Congress and the People get to see what is in this before the vote is taken, there is a very good chance enough Dems will be so sickened by it that it will not pass. They cannot allow disclosure, cannot allow us to know what they are doing.

This bill will fundamentaly change business in the United States. It will drive many companies out of business -many more will be forced to move their operations off shore. It will forever raise the amount of money each citizen has to pay in taxes and increases in energy costs. The latest estimates I have seen put the figure at $4500 per year, per citizen, in increased costs due solely to the provisions of this bill. That's PER PERSON.

Our only hope is in the US Senate. Once the House passes the bill, it goes there for modification and a vote for ratification. Modification is unlikely - Waxman worked with a few ultra-left wing Senators on the bill, dragging them into the process so that it looks like both sides of Congress produced it. Republican sponsored changes are likely not to be allowed to be heard, much less voted on. Republicans have some procedural methods they can use to stall the bill, to try and force changes or get it killed altogether. Chances of that are slim, but they've got to try.

Update - the House passed the bill late Friday afternoon, 219-212. It was a lot closer than the Dems had predicted, but you can still thank 7 a*holes for the largest tax increase in history. The close vote indicates a lot of Dems sided against the bill. We can only hope the Senate turns out differently.

Waxman - To Hell With the First Amendment

This man is a dangerous idiot.

Meet Henry Waxman (D-CA), member of the House of Representatives from the 30th District of California (Beverly Hills, West Hollywood).

When the Democrats won control of the House in 2006, Waxman wormed his way into powerful committee leadership posts, with the considerable help of his mentor - Nancy Pelosi. He immediately started using his positions to attack the Bush administration, Republicans in general, and any form of conservatism he could reach out and punish.

Waxman's latest attack on the Constitution is this: His House Subcommittee on Energy and the Environment is holding four days of hearings on the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. His star witness today, to wrap up the session: Algore, the biggest eco-whore the world has ever known.

Republicans on the committee invited Lord Christopher Monckton, former science advisor to UK's Prime Minister, to appear beside Algore, to provide a balance in testimony. Lord Monckton has long been a critic of the scam science of global warming, and unlike Algore, has scientific credentials to back up his arguments. Lord Monckton has tried unsuccessfully several times to get Algore to debate him on the subject.

Upon learning that Lord Monckton was the Republican's witness, Waxman refused to allow him into the hearing, mush less testify.

The Democrats have a lot to learn about the right of free speech under the US Constitution. Congress Henry Waxman's (D-CA) refusal to expose Al Gore's sci-fi comedy-horror testimony to proper, independent scrutiny by the House minority reeks of naked fear.” - Lord Monckton, upon arriving at the Washington airport and being told of his being un-invited to appear by Waxman

Algore will be allowed to spew his crap freely before the committee and cameras, where Democrat members of the committee will swoon to his wisdom, mainstream media will treat him as an eco-god, and Republicans on the committee will be ruled out of order, out of time, and out of luck if they wish to pose a question.

Algore is a smart man. He knows that if he is put up one on one in a debate with anyone who is knowledgable about climate change, Algore will be shredded and exosed as the fraud he is. He will not allow himself to be trapped into that situation, and none of his far left kook buddies will allow it to happen either.

Once again, under Democrat control, Freedom of Speech is only applicable if what is being said is lockstep with what the left believes and wants to hear.
