Harry Reid Needs To Go

Harry Reid (D-NV), leader of the US Senate, is a corrupt, incompetent, partisan political hack.  He needs to be returned to private life, or at least taken out of power.  (If the Republicans had fielded a decent candidate against him in 2010, he wouldn't be there now.)

Reid's latest controversy is his statements to the press that he's 'heard' that Mitt Romney hadn't paid any taxes in 10 years.  This was a DNC talking point released a couple of weeks ago, for lower ranking Dem hacks to drop into the news.  There is no proof of any such thing.  There doesn't have to be for the low lifes running Obama's campaign to run with it.  They know that the mainstream media will give it coverage, and a bunch of gullible voters might actually believe it.

Reid stated in an impromtu news conference held outside Senate chambers last week that he had 'heard' that Romney hadn't paid taxes.  He then went into the Senate, and during session repeated the accusation.  How low can you go?  To spit out DNC talking points (that he knows are false) into the Congressional Record, while the Senate is in session, is a travesty.

Reid is a walking foot in mouth gaffe machine, almost (but not quite as bad) as our esteemed VP, Sheriff Joe Biden.  He is also dirty, having been under investigation by the Senate Ethics Committee more than once, and currently under fire for assisting a Chinese solar panel manufacturer in getting federal money - a Chinese company his son is representing.

The most frightening thing about Reid - he's pretty much a typical Democrat.

This guy needs to go.  Republicans must take control of the Senate in November, and relegate this moron to the sidelines.

Two Faced Weasel

It is a difficult decision, but I'm going to award the 'Two Faced Weasel of the Year Award' for 2011 to Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV).

Senator Reid has been leading the fight in the Senate to get tax breaks for oil and gas companies rescinded. The logic has been that they are making so much money, they don't need the tax breaks. They should be paying a full share of taxes, and more, to help pay for all of Obama's social programs. Big Oil is making record profits, so why should they get tax breaks?

OK, that is a legitimate point for discussion. (I'm not a fan of Big Oil, and I don't see any reason for tax breaks, as long as the same rules are applied fairly to other companies as well.)

However, this same Senator Reid has put into place and has consistently defended huge tax breaks for gold mining companies based in Nevada. Why? Because they paid him to do so.

Mining companies have 'contributed' 3/4 of a million dollars to Reid's election campaigns over the years. This includes 127,000 from the two largest gold mining companies in Nevada for his 2010 re-election. These two companies made $5,000,000,000 off the gold they pulled from public lands, and paid next to nothing to the government for the public land mining leases, and no taxes on their profits or operations, courtesy of Reid's protection.

In these days of soaring gold prices, why is Senator Reid delivering tax breaks to companies who are making fortunes that make Big Oil look like a non-profit outfit? Follow the money. As always, just follow the money.

I have not seen any public statment from Reid's handlers trying to explain this. My guess is that he is trying to ignore it and hope it goes away.

Thanks a Lot, Nevada

I really want to thank the voters of Nevada for giving us another dose of Harry Reid. To all of you union thugs, illegal immigrants, and campaign operators who secured his victory, thanks a lot. To the Republicans, who chose one of the weakest candidates they could find to oppose him in what should have been a slam dunk defeat for Reid, thanks a lot.

Now, the Democrat leader of the Senate has called the Chinese Premier a 'dictator' in public, while the Chinese leader is in this country being hosted by Reid's boss - Obama. Now, even if he is a dictator, how stupid can you be? To insult this man, arguably the leader of the most powerful country on earth, while your buddy is schmoozing him is just catastrophic lunacy.

China holds our mortage. If they call it due, it may end this country - or at least drop it to second world status. We have become so dependent upon China that we cannot move away from them (by their design). China can run our country, if they wish to.

This might even top his 'This War is Lost' on the stupidest things said by a politician in the past decade list.

Reid Stopped Cold

Harry Reid's attempt to hijack a $726,000,000,000 defense spending bill was narrowly blocked today as all Republicans in the Senate were joined by 2 Democrats in opposing him. The vote was 56-43, leaving Democrats 4 short of the magic '60' number. What disgusts me is that he did this, that Obama helped him do this, and more Democrats didn't rise up against it.

Reid tacked on an amendment, called DREAM, that is designed to grant easy citizenship to illegal immigrants who came here as children. This was a blatant attempt to buy off Hispanic voters in the upcoming mid-term election. He is in a dead heat with a Tea Party candidate for the Senate seat he currently infests. Hispanic turnout, particularly illegal, fraudulent voters, are a key to his hopes to survive the election.

Another amendment, one to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell in the entire military was also added by Democrats. It was seen as the last chance to repeal the law during this Congress. Apparetnly the issue wasn't important enough to Obama and Congressional leadership to bring it up on its own for a vote, so they tried to sneak it in this way.

Another Democrat amendment to force overseas military installations to provide abortion on demand services was included as well.

Reid limited debate on the amendments, basically forbidding anyone from taking to the floor of the Senate to discuss them. He also blocked any Republican amendments to the bill, shutting them completely out of the process.

Several of the NO votes were cast because of the dirty tricks Reid had implemented to try and force the bill through.

Let's see ... Illegal immigration ... Gays in the military ... federally funded abortion ... Exactly the kind of stuff that should be in a defense spending bill, according to Democrats.

No matter what your beliefs are in those three issues, they all deserve legislation of their own, openly debated in Congress, out in the light for all to see, with open and direct votes on each. The attempt to try and slime these by while keeping them out of view is deplorable.

What Reid did is within the rules of the Senate. The ruling party pretty much can do whatever they want - that's the rule, and it has existed for a long, long time. However, I cannot honestly remember any such outrageous attempts during Republican control of the Senate.

Reid's Prayer

"Oh Great Lord Obama ...

I am in so much trouble ...

The public hates me ...

The voters in Nevada hate me ...

I can't get anything done because of evil, racist, homophobe, elitist, capitalist Republicans ...

The only chance I have of getting re-elected in November is for you, oh Great Lord, to STAY AWAY ...

Only you, Great Lord Obama, can help me get re-elected by not helping me ....

Please hear my prayer ...."

Congress Having a Party, On Us

Under the leadership of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, members of Congress have increased their foreign travel expenses by over 50% since the Democrats took control of Congress in 2006. Democrats as well as Republicans are guilty of wasting our money on these junkets, but the higher profile, more expensive trips certainly seem to be taken by Dems.

Pelosi herself led a delegation of Dems to Afghanistan this past February. They spent less than a day on the ground in Kabul, before flying home. Prior to getting to Kabul, the group made an 8 day rest stop in Italy, where she and her bunch of thieves racked up almost $58,000 in hotel and meal bills - all paid for by the US taxpayers. This doesn't include the cost of the USAF planes and personnel that had to serve as taxis for the trip.

Sen. Daniel Inhouye (D-HI) took half a dozen Senators and their spouses on a junket to the Paris Air Show this year. They flew on a USAF 737 transport plane ($5700 an hour to operate). They stayed at a $460 per room per night hotel in Paris during the trip. They had a dinner party at the US embassy, and a cocktail party at the Eiffel Tower. All of it was paid for by the taxpayer. What exactly this trip was supposed to accomplish is not clear.

The cost of flying a small group of lawmakers overseas (on a G-20 class aircraft) is about $150,000. Larger groups use the USAF version of the 757, which costs $12,000 a hour to operate.

How dare these people tell us that we have to sacrifice to help the country out of the recession. How dare they raise our taxes, just to throw money away in activity like this. Democrat, Republican - I don't care - these thieves ought to be thrown in jail.

Thanks to the Wall Street Journal for shedding light on this.
