Obama's Czars - UnConstitutional and Illegal

Obama has appointed numerous 'czars' and commissions to address various parts of his policies. This practice has been used by Presidents in the past to work on a few important issues, such as a drug czar (for the war on drugs), but never has it been used so much and for the purpose Obama has.

His czars and commissions are not elected officials. They are not vetted or confirmed by Congress. They are chosen, directed, and paid by Obama. They answer to no one except him.

Obama is using them to write legislation. These pieces of legislation are then sent to Congress, where they are given a strict up or down vote, with no debate, no modification, no amendments allowed. Typically they are rammed through Congress very quickly by Reid and Pelosi, to keep the members from having time to read them and understand what they are voting for. Reid and Pelosi crack sharp whips, and Democrats who dare vote against any of Obama's laws end up in the dog house.

The end results are laws written by Obama.

This is unConstitutional - the President has no authority to write law - that is the exclusive right and responsibility of Congress. It is also illegal.

Republican members of Congress, and some long time Democrats are sounding alarm over this. Sen. Robert Byrd (D-VA), longest serving member of the Senate (and former member of the KKK) sent Obama a letter recently blasting the practice and warning of dire Constitutional problems that will arise.

Not that it matters.

I'm sure all of you have seen the TV commercial for the movie 'Frost/Nixon', where the Nixon character states "If the President does it, it's not illegal". It's meant to convey the evilness of Nixon and his politics. Well, apparently Obama agrees with Nixon.

Obama's abuse of power is only equaled by his arrogance. By the time people wake up to what is happening this country will be in such a hole I am not sure we will be able to claw our way back up. The writers of our constitution would be appalled.

By the way, I really enjoy your blog - you always hit the nail on the head

Thank you, ma'am. (Barbara Boxer be damned!)

Writing about this stuff is a sort of therapy ... its so frustrating to see what is going on these days. I guess it helps my blood pressure to blow off some steam!
