Democrat Bait and Switch On Immigration
To listen to Schumer, and other Democrats, all they are doing is common sense things that no one should oppose, because they are common sense and have overwhelming bi-partisan support of the American People. Notice the key buzz words ...
They are not common sense, bi-partisan, harmless, or supported by the vast majority of Americans. No way ...
In a nutshell, the Democrat plan is to issue blanket amnesty to all illegal immigrants, phrasing it 'probationary'. Then, the Feds will consider border enforcement, using new 'metrics' to measure how secure the borders are. (Interestingly enough, he specifically refused to discuss what those metrics are.) Once the Feds declare the borders secure, then a path to citizenship will be established for all those on probation.
Three parts, to be done in a very specific order. Why?
First, 'probationary'. There was no definition offered of what probationary means, other than 'the poor victims will not have to be constantly be watching over their shoulders'. No offer of what could revoke such probation. No explanation of what rights and benefits those under probation would receive. (We already know that HHS has determined that Obamacare will cover illegal immigrants - what other Federal, State, and local benefits will they receive? Will they be allowed to vote, even though they aren't citizens? None of this was disclosed.)
Second, Border Security 'metrics'. Schumer specifically mentioned 'metrics' several times. This is code - all it means is that the bill will establish a method (or methods) for measuring border security. There is nothing in the bill that will actually have any effect on border security. You may have noticed in the past couple of months that whenever Napalitano or any other Administration official is in front of Congress (or a camera), they are quick to tout that the border is more secure now that at any time in the past. That is no accident. They are laying the groundwork for those 'metrics'. All Obama and his minions will have to say is 'look, border security meets the metrics, we are secure'. No action, no procedural change, no tightening of the borders at all.
Third, a Path to Citizenship. Anyone who passes their probationary period (which will be all of them) will be given a quick path to become full citizens, with all the benefits and rights that accompany that status.
There is a very specific reason that Democrats are pushing for the 3 steps in this order. They must confer status on the illegals BEFORE the sham of their metrics becomes common knowledge. When the general public finds out what they are trying to pull, the outrage is going to be overwhelming. Remember 2007, when they tried to ram something like this down our throats? Remember how it got shut down almost immediately due to the flood of public outcry? They know that could happen again - and that is the reason that Dems will not allow Border Security to be addressed first.
Democrats do not want the borders secured. They see illegals as a free flowing spigot of manufactured voters - and there is no way they want to see that windfall dry up. Once they pass their version (if it passes), they very much hope that masses of fools from south of our border will flock here to get their free citizenship and free shit from the government. Every one will be indoctrinated into becoming a Democrat voter - for Dems are their saviors.
For those who would argue that point, I cite 1986 as precedent. President Reagan allowed 3,000,000 illegals to become citizens/residents, based upon a promise from Democrats in Congress that Border Security would be fixed in exchange. It never was - there was never an effort to fix it. Shame on Republicans for not pressing that issue when they had control of Congress - they were fools to ignore the issue when they could have done something about it. Fast forward to 2013 - Dems stand to gain anywhere from 11 to 20 million new voters if they can shove this through. Why would they allow anything to be passed that would dry up that source of future votes? Pass amnesty, block any tightening of the borders, and a few years down the road reap another sizable catch of votes.
The three steps are probably a given. We're going to end up with 11 to 20 million new Democrats, that's almost certain. The only thing that is really in play is the order of the first two steps. Will Republicans fight for Border Security first, to turn off the faucet. Or, will they cave in, hoping somehow that their timidity will con a bunch of Hispanics into voting for them? It's a loss either way. The only question is whether they stand up and stop the bleeding now, or just bend over and continue to take it.
Oh, and as a side bar - none of this will have any effect on those law abiding immigrants who are going through the full, legal path to becoming American Citizens. They will not be offered probation, or a fast path. What Bullshit!

Immigration Reform - The Solution
Many illegals who come here across our Southern border looking for work send a good amount of their earnings back home to their families. In the Southern states (actually, all over the US), there are untold thousands of convenience and check cashing stores that offer cheap money orders to Mexico.
This does a couple of bad things. First, it takes money out of our economy and sends it out of country. Second, since a good amount of that money is paid to illegals 'under the table' and not subject to payroll taxes, the government loses out on all of the payroll tax revenue completely. If the 'under the table' wages had stayed in country, at least some tax revenue would be collected as the money changed hands inside of our economy.
I propose this:
Impose a 50% Federal excise tax to be applied to all money sent out of the country via Money Order. Allow all illegals in the country to apply for a temporary worker's permit, one that can be renewed periodically if the holder is not convicted of a crime. (Voting rights will not be extended to non-citizens.)
This helps the illegal immmigration issue in several ways:
1) This is the general amnesty that those on the left want so badly. Illegals who want to stay in this country for whatever reason can do so without fear of being deported (unless they commit a crime).
2) This will raise a tremendous amount of tax revenue for the Federal treasury. That money can be used to help border security, fund social programs, pay for services rendered to illegals, or pay down the debt. Democrats should be salivating at this potential pile of cash for their spending addiction.
3) People who are in the US illegally simply because they want to share in the American Dream are given access to that dream without fear of deportation, as long as they don't commit a crime, and without paying any kind of financial penalty. What left winger wouldn't cheer for this?
4) People who are in the US illegally to drain money out of our economy to send out of the country will pay a tax burden on that money. They can still send money via Money Order to their families south of the border, but it will cost them. They can stay in the US under worker's permits as long as they want, the only caveat is the tax on money sent out of country.
5) People who don't want to pay that tax will leave the country and go back home. If you make it painful enough for people to take money out of our economy, they will stop doing it, or leave. This should dramatically decrease the number of illegals already here, and drastically cut the number of newbies breaking into our counrty. This will make Republicans very happy.
There is no downside to this. It solves just about everything about illegal immigration in a way that should make everyone happy, and its pretty darned simple.
So, given our government, it doesn't stand a chance in hell of being implemented!

Latest Obama Vote Buying Scheme - DREAM LIte
DREAM was an effort by Democrats in Congress. The headline was that it was going to provide a path to citizenship for the children of undocumented workers, a way for youngsters who had graduated from High School, were going to college, or had served in the military to become American citizens. Sounds like a noble effort, right? The problem was that underneath the headline were about a hundred other things, buried in the bill, that provided amnesty for multiple classes of illegals, funding for programs for illegals, new social program funding, and a whole host of other left wing bullshit legislation that couldn't stand on its own, and would never survive an up and down vote. This was found out, and DREAM was defeated in the Senate (A Democrat controlled Senate, by the way ...).
Obama, in what even the most 'in the tank for Obama' pundits admit is a vote buying ploy, enacted by Presidential decree last Friday the headline part of DREAM. Children of undocumenteds now have a path to citizenship. Once again, there are a pile of fine print details they don't want seen in the light of day.
To qualify, an undocumented person must be a child of an undocumented person. The undocumented person must be 30 years of age or younger. The undocumented person must have been in this country illegally for a minimum of five years. The undocumented person must have graduated High School, be attending college, or served in the military.
The key here is 'undocumented'. How in the hell is the government supposed to document any of this (with the exceptions of college and military service) for someone who is undocumented? A person can apply forthis, and there is no way for the government to not take them at their word.
This opens the flood gates for anyone who says they are under 31 (and that doesn't have to be verified) to claim that they belong in the program.
The government agency that would be responsible for doing the verification is not funded. There is no money, no personnel, no method for any of the verification to happen.
Once accepted into the program, each person will receive a 2 year guest worker permit (a green card). The green cards can be reissued by the government over and over, without the person holding it having to produce any documentation that they are going through the 'real' process to become a citizen.
The provisions that are supposed to limit and control this program are completely unenforcable - and that is exactly what Obama wants.
In essence, Obama has just declared amnesty for every illegal alien in this country who even remotely looks like they could be 30 years old or younger.
Why did he do this? For the votes of these persons (very conservatively estimated at more than 800,000), plus a majority of all Latinos in the country.
In addition, there is absolutely no provision in his declaration that tightens border security at all. So, we're going to have a huge influx of 20 and 30 something illegals flooding over our borders - Obama has put up the WELCOME sign for all of them, fully expecting each and every one of them to become a loyal Democrat voter.
The stated purpose of DREAM was noble. The problem with the original legislation and Obama's twisted declaration was that stated purpose was a smoke screen for political shenanigans. The Democrats are so proud of this they aren't even attempting to hide it.
By the way - the arguments I've heard in the past three days from Constitutional Scholars about Obama's decree have been almost unanimous is stating that Obama did not have the authority to do this. His decree was an unConstitutional end run around Congress and the will of the majority of the American people. Problem is, Obama doesn't care, and there is no one who can stop him.
Also, as a curious note - the head of the AFL/CIO has come out strongly in favor of Obama's decree, publicly stating his support. That is very strange for someone who is supposed to be representing the American Worker. Each and every person who is let into or allowed to stay in this country who should otherwise not be here is going to take a job away from an 'American Worker'. You would think that Big Labor would fight any effort to give away hundreds of thousands of jobs, expecially in this economy. Not so, Big Labor is in Obama's pockets, the actual well being of the worker ba damned.

Taxpayer Funded Help For Busted Illegals
Here's the official press announcement:
http://content.govdelivery.com/bulletins/gd/USDHSICE-23b1e1
So, the Obama Administration once again extends the hand of friendship to illegal immigrants in the hope of buying their votes, all paid for by you and me.
(And before anyone quips 'illegals can't vote', well, that's bullshit. Illegal immigrant votes are one of the biggest reasons Obama, his DoJ, and Democrats in general are so opposed to strengthening voter fraud laws, such as requiring a photo ID to be able to vote.)
As a Natural Born American Citizen, and a taxpayer who is paying for this service, can I call these people for help if the local authorities give me a hard time? Might be worth a call, just to hear how they decline the opportunity to assist me.

Justice Served, Texas Style
Leal was convicted of the brutal rape and murder of Adria Sauceda, a 16 year old San Antonio girl, in 1995. After raping the girl, he assaulted her sexually with a stick that had a long screw taped to the end of it. After he was done, he smashed her head in with a 30 pound piece of asphalt.
When he was arrested, he confessed to the crime. He has been on Death Row for 16 years. He has filed appeals and motions almost constantly during that time, citing every possible excuse - all of which have been denied.
His lawyers tried a last minute tactic to try and get not only a stay of execution, but attempting to get a pardon from Texas Governor Rick Perry. The Obama Administration jumped in, stating that the President had the right to interfere under international agreements. The UN stuck its nose into it. The Mexican Government tried to interfere.
Leal was an illegal immigrant. His parents entered the country illegally when he was 2 years old. As far as anyone knows, he had never returned to Mexico. When he was arrested, he reportedly produced a Texas driver's license as ID.
The 'outrage' over this execution was the fact that Leal was not told by the arresting officers that he should contact the Mexican Embassy after his arrest, for legal assistance and advice.
First - Why would the arresting officers presume that Leal was a foreign national? What reason would they have to - a Latino, in San Antonio, with a Texas ID? Indeed, if a Hispanic was asked his immigration status under Obama's Administration, there would be cries of horrendous persecution, discrimination, and racial profiling. So, the Obama gang's stance was that officers erred in 1995 for doing exactly what Obama demands they do today.
Second - the Mexican Government spits in the wind when they complain. They cared absolutely nothing about Leal, or any other illegal immigrants. This is simply a mechanism for them to act like they actually matter.
Third - the UN - an organization that has countries like Libya, Syria, and Iran sitting on human rights committees. Yeah, like they really give a crap about anything except living it up in New York on our money.
Where is the sympathy for the young girl and her family? Where is the acknowledgement that this man was found guilty, and had confessed to the crime. Where is the acknowledgement that he received proper legal council during and after his trial?
By the way ...
Leal's parting statements as the drugs were flowing included admitting to what he did (again), acknowledging the pain he has caused, and saying he was sorry for it all. His final words were "Viva Mexico". If he loved Mexico so much, why didn't he go back before he took the life of that young girl? Too bad he didn't ...
Good riddance, asshole.
Thank you Rick Perry, for ignoring the pressure from Obama and allowing justice to run its course.

They Just Want To Contribute To American Society
The left in this country, in conjunction with illegal alien advocacy groups, want us all to believe that the flood of illegals coming across our southern border are just normal everyday folks who want to come to our country to contribute to our society. They want to work hard, they want to be part of our country. Their quest is noble. Anyone standing, or trying to stand, in their way is a racist Nazi. Anyone trying to enforce the evil laws of this country is to be chastised and run out of office.
Indeed, Obama's DHS and DoJ have gone to great lengths to neuter our immigration policy. It came to light this week that Border Patrol agents have been instructed not to apprehend anyone caught illegally entering this country - they are simply to be turned back in the other direction and politely asked to leave (and try again later).
A friend who lives in the beautiful desert southwest in Arizona, forwarded me these photos. They are of an area frequented by illegals for their trek northward. This is inside of the United States, approximately 1.5 miles from Tucson itself.
This is what these illegals think of our country and its laws.
If the left is so supportive of these folk's 'right' to come into this country without paperwork, without going through the legal process, then why isn't the left out there cleaning this up? Why aren't all those illegal alien advocacy groups out there taking care of this?
Let me get this across to all of you - I have nothing but respect for immigrants who come here legally, and leave when their time is up, or go throught he process to become a citizen. Can that process be shortened and streamlined - certainly. (I find it ironic that tests given for citizenship contain questions that 80% of high school students in this country can't answer - but that's another subject). If you come to this country with respect and go through the process, then you are welcome.
If you can't be bothered by obeying our laws, if you are too good to submit to the process, then go back home and stay there. I know that statement covers a lot of otherwise good people who just happen to be living here illegally. I'm sorry, but you are criminals, and you shouldn't be here. Especially if you are doing this to our land.

DREAM Act Exposed
Now I admit to not having known much about DREAM. I had heard some of the mainstream media reports that it establishes a path to legal citizenship for children of illegal immigrants, children who are working towards college degrees or are serving in the military. To me, that actually sounds pretty good.
Republicans have stood against it, and I couldn't understand why, unless it was just from being the Party of NO. It seemed to me that getting behind it would help, at least in small part, the GOP's standing with Hispanics.
Well, details of DREAM are coming out, and it is clear to see why it is objectionable.
Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has authored an excellent article on "10 Things You Need to Know About S.3827, the DREAM Act". This is a real eye opener, and should be read by every American. It shows the real reasons behind DREAM and the Democrat push to get it quickly through Congress.
http://cfif.org/v/index.php/commentary/58-immigration/821-ten-things-you-need-to-know-about-s3827-the-dream-act
In addition, John Romano over at Yes, But However has written a piece exposing how DREAM is actually amnesty for illegals. Well worth the read.
http://yesbuthowever.com/wsj-misses-mark-50000145/
If you aren't fully versed on DREAM, if all you know is what the mainstream media and Democrat Congressional leadership have told you, you owe it to yourself to read these pieces and understand what they are trying to do. Read, then contact your congressional representatives and demand they stop DREAM.

Do They Not Know How To Read?
These attacks started even before the law was passed.
The law is only 10 pages long. As far as laws go, it is pretty concise and actually very limited in what it does. Compared to anything coming out of Washington, it is astonishing in its brevity and simplicity.
However, apparently it is too long and too cumbersome for Democrats to understand. The evidence ...
The people yelling the loudest about it haven't even read it.
In the past week, the following people have admitted that they have not read the law, and don't know what it says:
Obama (His Highness Himself)
Robert Gibbs (Obama's Press Secretary)
Janet Napolitano (DHS Secretary)
Rahm Emanual (Obama's Chief of Staff)
Eric Holder (US Attorney General)
PJ Crowley (US State Dept. Spokesman)
All of these folks, and many, many more have made very public statements condeming Arizona, threatening Arizona, and inflaming tensions for political gain.
Know what's funny? It doesn't matter what's in the law. If it didn't come from Obama, they are going to savage it, no matter what. They see it as an opportunity to make political gain - and they jumped all over it.
The Federal Government is totally inept when it comes to border control and immigration enforcement. The fact that they attack, out of ignorance, anyone who actually tries to remedy the situation is disgusting.
Update - if you're interested, here is the entire text of the bill:

Arizona and Immigration Reform
Those on the left are screaming bloody murder. A horrible injustice, racist, discriminitory, violation of civil rights ... etc. What the left is really afraid of is this - the loss of the illegal voting block. They count illegal aliens as one of their biggest sources of block votes. Yes, I know - illegals aren't supposed to be able to vote - but that hasn't stopped the Democrat Vote Manufacturing Machine from using them.
The only immigration reform acceptable to Democrats is to legalize anyone who wants to be in the country, automatically. That is pure insanity.
Ronald Reagan extended amnesty to millions of illegals during his administration. The intended goal was to legalize everyone already here, then enact reform to toughen the borders and control who comes and goes, and how. The amnesty happened, but no reform followed. Our gutless Congress, with the aid of Presidents who didn't want to touch the issue, allowed the situation to build back up to where tens of millions are in this country illegally, and they are screaming for amnesty (again). This has been a bi-partisan failure. Bush 41, Clinton, Bush 43, and Obama have all let this situation erode to where it is today. Obama will be the one who finally acts, but will try to push through a far left idea of what reform should be. If he is successful, the borders will be open, millions of currently illegals will instantly become legal, registered Democrat voters, and millions of more will come streaming across the border.
The situation in Arizona, and here in Texas is becoming unsustainable. Drug and gun smuggling, violence on both sides of the border, the almost complete inability of Mexican officials to do anything to stop the drug wars, attacks on US citizens by smugglers and illegals, and the incredible drain on public resources by illegals has become an emergency. That is why Arizona acted - the Federal Government has thrown half-assed spit balls at the problem, and hoped for it to go away. Well, it ain't going away, and it's gonna get much worse if we don't do something about it now.
Leo Banks, an Arizona resident, has an excellent piece on The American Thinker concerning what is going on in Arizona. It is well worth the read for those who aren't up to speed on how desperate the situation is there. I suggest you take a read to understand what is at stake....
I have nothing but admiration for those to immigrate to this country and do what is necessary to become legal citizens. It is not an easy task - most people who become naturalized citizens know more about US history and government than the average high school graduate. To see the swearing in ceremony is an awesome thing to behold. However, for those who won't make the effort, then they deserve to be thrown out if they are caught, and the government should be actively trying to find them.
The United States has the most lax immigration laws and enforcement in the world. For goodness sakes, Mexico has much, much tougher laws concerning illegals in their country. It baffles me why those on the left want to weaken our laws even further.

The Mexican-American Invasion of 2009
His statement was that since 10% of all Mexican citizens resided inside the US, his presence was critical to supporting those persons.
10% ????????
He's telling us that the Mexican government believes 10% of all of its citizens are living in the United States, legally and illegally (we know which category has the highest percentage, don't we ....). The published population of Mexico for the last census in 2008 was 106,350,434. 10% of that is 10,635,000 people.
Now, this does not include other legal and illegal immigrants from other countries in Central and South America. I've seen estimates that indicate that there are at least as many immigrants from those countries combined as there are from Mexico itself. So, a total of 21,000,000 immigrants from south of our border currently residing in the US is a reasonable figure.
This far exceeds the estimates I've seen from the Democrat party, which puts the figure at about 12,000,000 total. Is it any wonder that Democrats do not want these folks identified, don't want them thrown out, and don't want any form of voter fraud reform? Any wonder that Democrats are so much in favor of anything that promotes or rewards illegal immigration? That's a very large number of Democrat voters that the party wants to keep.

Pelosi Panders to Illegals

In a recent address to a group of mostly Hispanic legal and illegal immigrant workers in a San Francisco church, Nancy Pelosi told them that enforcement of US immigration laws was un-American.
"Who in this country would not want to change a policy of kicking in doors in the middle of the night and sending a parent away from their families?"
"It must be stopped....What value system is that? I think it's un-American. I think it's un-American."
"We have to have a change in policy and practice and again ... I can't say enough, the raids must end. The raids must end.
"You are special people. You're here on a Saturday night to take responsibility for our country's future. That makes you very, very patriotic."
So, according to the 3rd person in line of succession to the office of President it is un_American to enforce our laws. The ICE raids, to which she is referring, which round up illegal workers at businesses and deport them, must be stopped. The midnight raids on homes to round up parents and haul them off to jail (which does not happen, by the way) are terrible and must be stopped.
She believes that illegal immigrants are patriotic, and the future of our country. This is certainly the Democrat outlook on immigration. They believe that the 12-15 million illegals in this country are all Democrats, and guaranteed to vote a straight party ticket, if the Dems can just keep voter fraud legislation from happening. Dems want more illegals from south of our border - the more the better - more guaranteed votes to keep them in power.
The Speaker of the House is openly calling for our immigration laws to be broken. This woman is an embarrassment to our country, and she needs to be kicked out of office as soon as possible.
And oh, by the way ... Does anyone else notice how Democrats love to use churches, particularly minority churches, to deliver their messages? As soon as a Republican does it, however, they start screaming about the violation of separation of church and state .....
