This Is Democrat Leadership?

Meet Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), a leading Democrat member of the Senate. One of the Senate's longest serving and most admired Democrats. Someone the Democrats in Congress hail as one of their leaders.

Here is Senator Durbin, pandering to a room full of illegal aliens, during a Senate committee meeting on the DREAM act:

Now, someone in his own party needs to remind Sen. Durbin that according to our Constitution, people serving as President of the United States must be natural born citizens. No one who stood up for that fake roll call he asked for is eligible to hold the office.

Either Senator Durbin is just plain stupid, or like most left wingers just doesn't give a shit about what the Constitution says. Maybe both?

Playing Chicken With Our Future

The current 'negotiations' between Obama, Democrats, and Republicans regarding increasing our country's debt ceiling are critical, but not for the reason both sides are stating publicly.

Republicans are demanding that any increase in the debt ceiling be matched by reductions in the national debt. Republicans, so far, are adamant that this must be achieved through spending cuts, not by raising taxes.

Democrats counter by saying that reductions in debt are fine, but must be achieved by raising taxes.

The immediate issue is the debt ceiling. If an agreement isn't made in the next month, an artificial 'deadline' established by Obama's finance czars will pass and result in a default by the United States on its debt. That is complete horseshit. No debt will be defaulted on, unless specifically directed by Obama. The government will continue to run, payments will continue to be made, Washington will continue to bleed billions of our tax dollars each and every day. It does mean that we can't raise the amount of money that we borrow from China to a higher level than it already is, without cutting an identical amount of spending.

Democrats are screaming that the end is near, that the earth is going to break open and swallow us all up if a deal isn't met. Then they turn around and refuse to have serious talks about reaching a deal. Then they turn around again and publicly start blaming Republicans for failures of the talks, and the impending doom. Lies, lies, lies ... all meant to set themselves up as blameless for this mess.

As I said in the opening, the stakes are very high, but for a different, less visible reason.

These talks set the ground rules which will apply to ALL future talks/discussions/negotiations aimed at reducing our crippling debt.

If Democrats 'win' and get any tax increases included in the deal, then the FIRST thing that will be brought up in any future talks will be tax increases. Actually cutting spending will be an afterthought.

If Republicans 'win' and tax increases do not take place in this deal, then spending cuts become the focal point of all future talks.

The key players in this mess know this. That is why they are staking out their positions with such inflexibility. That is why you have Obama calling a press conference today to discuss the negotiations, and all he has to offer are tax increases - not a single spending cut mentioned.

Some ancillary points in support ...

In his new conference, Obama singled out two tax increases that should take place. First, the tax deduction corporations can take to operate their corporate jets. Second, tax breaks extended to oil companies covering their exploration investments. He portrayed these as evil money grabs, mentioning the jet tax item at least 6 times in his speech. He equated leaving these tax incentives in place with letting children starve. With all of his zeal on the two parts, you would think that killing these two tax breaks would solve our deficit problem.

Charles Krauthammer offered his analysis on this. Paraphrasing ... If the corporate jet and oil tax breaks were eliminated entirely, and the resulting revenue collected for 100 years, it wouldn't equal the amount of debt Obama incurred on this country in the month of April.

The amount of money the Federal Government spends has gone up 24% since Obama was inaugurated. All of that money is borrowed, none of it is generated revenue. Every single penny of that increase directly piles onto our deficit.

42 cents of every dollar the Federal Government spends is borrowed.

Despite calling for reductions in government spending, Obama and Democrat leadership in Congress have yet to offer a SINGLE proposal that reduces spending on anything. They are quick to savage any Republican proposal, but have nothing at all to offer in response.

During Obama's tenure, Democrats have not offered or passed a single federal budget. Even when they controlled both Houses of Congress, they made no effort at putting forth a budget. This is done on purpose ... if there is no budget, there is no limit on what they can spend. This is the only time in our history that I am aware of that the government has been operated in this fashion, with no fiscal plan at all.

Over the past year, Republicans have repeatedly proposed rolling back spending to 2008 levels, to the amount that the Federal Government was spending before Obama took office. Democrats have screamed bloody murder and refused to even consider it. They use scare tactics, saying Republicans want to kill senior citizens and starve poor children in the streets by making horrendous cuts. Funny ... I don't remember a single instance of a child dying of hunger in the street, or of a Senior citizen dying because all of their benefits were cut off, during the Bush Administration.

This insanity has got to stop. Republicans MUST stand up during these negotiations and refuse to allow tax increases to occur. Later, if corporate tax breaks and loopholes are closed as part of a tax system overhaul, so be it - but that is another battle, and the precedent of raising taxes instead of cutting spending must not be established so early in the process.

One looks at this and has to wonder if Obama and the Dems are truly so stupid that they can't see what they are doing to our country, or if they are doing it on purpose in order to collapse our financial system so they can rebuild it into their socialist utopia. I suspect there are some of them that fall into each category. The thought that they are doing it according to a plan would have been unthinkable two years ago. However, with all we have seen them do, it has to be considered a legitimate possibility.

7/4 Update - rumors are flying around Washington that a 'mini-deal' will be pulled out just in time to save the day. Both sides are counting on this, because they don't want to lose face by backing down, and don't really care about whether the problem is fixed or not. So, we'll get a short term 'deal' that increases the debt ceiling a little bit, reduces spending a little bit, increases taxes a little bit, and kicks the problem on down the road - hopefully until after the 2012 election.

Democrat leadership wants this because they don't want it to be a campaign issue. Republican leadership wants this because they don't want it to be a campaign issue. That's the only thing the two sides agree on - put it off to help their own election chances.

That's the crux of the problem, isn't it? A horrible problem for our country takes a back seat to petty partisan politics and the all-mighty need to be re-elected.

7/10 Update - Efforts to come up with a package of 4 trillion in deficit reduction over 10 years appear to have fallen apart, The reason - no compromise over tax increases. Dems demand them, Republicans refuse them. It appears that a more modest 2 trillion package is more likely.

Stand fast, Republicans. Do not give in. If it means the smaller deal goes through, then so be it. It is more important to set the stage for future deficit reductions than the relatively small difference (can you believe that we've gotten to the point where 2 trillion dollars is considered a 'small' sum?).

The important spending cuts are in our future. This is just setting the table - and it is critical.

Republican Hero of the Day

Meet Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA).

There are a few people in Washington who actually have their heads screwed on straight enough to see what is happening and are willing to stand up (or sit down in this case) and say something about it. This is well worth a listen.

We need a whole lot more Mike Kelly types running this country instead of the brain dead morons who are in charge right now.

Obama Craps on the Military, Again

I'm not in the military, so I don't know this for certain. However, I can't imagine how frustrating it is for those who do serve, to have a Commander-in-Chief who repeatedly sh*ts all over them.

Mr. Obama, in prepared remarks he delivered at Ft. Drum, home of the 10th Mountain Division, yesterday:

"First time I saw 10th Mountain Division, you guys were in southern Iraq. When I went back to visit Afghanistan, you guys were the first ones there. I had the great honor of seeing some of you because a comrade of yours, Jared Monti, was the first person I was able to award the Medal of Honor to who actually came back and wasn't receiving it posthumously."

Jared Monti died in the action he received the Medal of Honor for, in 2006.

President Obama presented the Medal of Honor to his parents on September 17, 2009.

The soldier Mr. Obama's speech writers were trying to refer to is
Salvador Guinta, who was awarded the Medal of Honor on November 16, 2010.

In Obama's eyes, he probably thinks this is just a tiny mistake, not worth noting at all. For the family of Jared Monti, I can't think of a harsher insult to the memory of their loved one. For Salvador Guinta, the disrespect shown because the President can't be bothered to remember who you are, mere months after having awarded you this nation's highest recognition of bravery.

Obama should travel to the Monti and Guinta families, and apologize privately, in person, for the gaffe. He should publicly apologize to the units involved, and the US Army as a whole. He should immediately fire the idiots who prepared that speech for him.

The previous Commander-in-Chief would never, NEVER have allowed this to happen.

Thanks to Outlaw13 over at Threedonia and BlackFive for sharing this info ...

Update - President Obama telephoned Jared Monti's father to apologize for the mistake. How gracious ... he took a couple of minutes to TELEPHONE an apology. Way to phone it in! I suppose we should be grateful he at least did that much ... NOT!

More Obamacare Wonders

Remember when George H.W. Bush uttered those fateful words "Read my lips. No New Taxes", and the fallout from that? It cost him re-election.

Well, Nancy Pelosi's comment "We have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it" uttered while Obamacare was being rammed through Congress should come back to haunt Democrats.

Well, here is a small gem that has been 'found out'.

A 'small glitch' in Obamacare, stemming in a redifinition of the word 'income' will result in 3 million middle class Americans receiving 'free' healthcare beginning in 2014. These folks do not currently qualify for Medicaid, which is intended as healthcare fo the poor. However, under Obamacare, they will suddenly qualify for it. Which means that 3 million more people will get medical care paid for by the rest of us (the taxpayers).

Estimates floating around indicate this will cost the taxpayers (the few who are left that can actually pay taxes) $450,000,000,000 over the first 10 years. That equates to over $300 per taxpayer per year to provide 'free' healthcare to these 3 million people - people who don't currently qualify for it.

Democrats are falling all over themselves trying to explain this as an unintended glitch. It is not, it was put into Obamacare on purpose. Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) stated that the issue had been discussed specifically while the legislation was being drafted.

Now that this glitch has become public knowledge, and the outcry over it is building, Dems are trying to portray it as a minor issue that they will go back in and fix - setting themselves up as the good guys. What horseshit. They got caught, and now they're trying to take credit for trying to undo it.

This is one 'minor' item in Obamacare's thousands of pages of legislation and hundreds of thousands of pages of resulting rules. I have no doubt that there are thousands more of these little items buried in there, each and every one of which is going to cost us a bunch of money.

I said this over a year ago, but it bears repeating. Exposing Obamacare and doing everything possible to roll it back is a key to the 2012 election for Republicans. There should be a concentrated effort underway at a national level to dig out things like this and make sure the voting public is aware of them. If Republicans don't expose Obamacare for what it is, and isn't, and use it as a political weapon, they have no one to blame but themselves. We can be sure that the Dems aren't going to tell us what is in there.

Oh, and by the way ... If you look at that figure of $450,000,000,000 ... divide it by 3,000,000 people, and then divide it by 10 to get a yearly figure ... you come out with a very instructive number. $15,000 per year, per person is what we, the tax payers, are going to have to come up with to cover all those millions of people who Obama has probmised 'free' healthcare.

In other Obamacare news ... as his Administration continues extending waivers by the hundreds to entities and corporations exempting them from having to comply with Obaamacare, the Administration is refusing to tell us who is getting the waivers and why. A few corporate names have been leaked out, but the majority are unknown to the general public. A group of Republicans in the House sent a letter to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius on June 2 asking for a list of recipients and reasons. She has ignored the request. Why? Because it is an embarrassment to them, on multiple levels. First, if Obamacare is so great, why would anyone need a waiver? Second, how many political favors have been extended by giving those waivers and to whom?

Falling Skies? More Like Falling Crap

Like a lot of Sci-Fi fans, I had been eagerly awaiting TNT's new 'epic' series Falling Skies, which had its two hour debut last night.

Good God, what a disappointment.

From Executive Producer Steven Spielberg comes this lame effort that is nothing more than a cut and paste of plot pievces from at least a half dozen different 'alien invasion' moves/series. There wasn't a new element anywhere in the two hours - every situation, every line, every character had already been seen in something else.

Hell, the "50 GTO" (supposedly a GTO convertible with a .50 caliber machine gun mounted in the back), wasn't even real. It was a plain old Tempest convertible - and yes, THERE IS A DIFFERENCE.

Lame, weak, predictable waste of electrons ...

Mr. Perry For Pres?

It certainly appears that Texas Governor Rick Perry will announce he's running for President before too much longer.

This is already drawing responses from Democrats and Republicans alike from all over the country - not another Texan!

Well, let me point out some facts about the Governor of our state:

He is the longest serving Governor in Texas History, having taken the reigns when George W went to the White House.

He has run the most successful state in the Union during mulitple economic messes that have occurred since 9/11. People may try to argue that, but they can't based on facts. Texas continues to have the best economy and job situation of any major state. Just ask all the yankees who continue to move here by the thousands each year in search of work.

He is a 'no apologies conservative'. He will work with Dems when they will work with him, but he will not become a moderate just to win votes. He works across the aisle when it is to the benefit of his conservative agenda.

He has a forceful personality. He is charasmatic. He comes across well as a public speaker. He is not afraid to come out and criticize his opponents. He is not afraid to address in blunt terms the lunacy that is going on in Washington today.

He does have a few skeletons in his closet. If you haven't already, you will hear about immiment domain, toll roads, HPV vaccinations, and other stuff. I admit to not agreeing with everything Perry has done during his tenure. However, I would take him with some minor issues over any Democrat and most Republican contenders - no question about it.

I've heard Dem pundits on TV already attacking him. They recognize a legitimate threat, and are focusing attacks on him even though he's not in the race. So far, the substance of the attacks is just juvenile, and ought to be embarrassing for them.

Perry/Bachmann. Perry/Pawlenty. Either of those tickets would work for me. Perry/Romney would be great for the country, though neither of them would agree to it. That would be an incredible team for our country - Perry leading the country, with Romney serving basically as CFO. My goodness - the potential of that team versus the pair of clowns we've got in there now is off the chart.

If you need evidence from other sources, just look at how the mainstream media is savaging Perry after his recent speeches. Sarah Palin is perhaps the only Republican who has gotten attacked with this much fervor. We know what that means - the left fears him.

Also, there is no other candidate that is generating as much excitement with Rush Limbaugh. Rush does not endorse candidates, but he's come as close as he ever has with his praise of Perry and his statements.

Folks, you have to remember/realize - we are not going to get Obama out of office by fielding a middle of the road, tepid, moderate candidate. We had that with John McCain, and look what happened. We need a conservative with a conservative, non-apologetic message - one who conservatives will rally behind and has a strong fiscal message. That will win. Conservatives are 40% of the voting population. Liberals are 22%. The mid-terms of 2010 proved that a lot of moderate/independents in the country will vote for a fiscal conservative, especially if their choice is to leave Obama in office.

Please Mr. Obama ... You Promised!

This Obama invterview with MSNBC was taped 3 weeks after he assumed the throne, in February 2009. I had not seen it before - most people haven't, given MSNBC's viewing audience of about 3.

Almost nothing he promises and predicts about his term in office has come true. Pay particular attention to the portion from 3:20 to 4:55, where he states that if the economy isn't fixed within 3 years, he will be a one termer.

Well, Mr. President? The Economy isn't just not fixed, it's a hell of a lot worse than it was when you ascended. Your policies have been to blame for that, and continuation of your policies will lead this country to ruin. I think this qualifies you for that one termer title you predicted.

Thanks to Ace and Hot Air for bringing this video to the surface again. Hopefully the RNC will take it and make good use of it during the 2012 election.

Another Eco-Scam

The University of Colorado's Sea Level Research Group has been caught red handed falsifying data in order to advance their position on man made global warming. It's so blatant, and they don't think there is anything wrong with it, that they don't try to deny it.

The Research Group is heavily relied upon for sea level data by governments, businesses, and individuals around the world. Their data on sea level, accompanied by those pretty, scary charts that show our coastline disappearing soon when all the glaciers melt, is seen as gospel. Well, their scripture is full of lies.

The Research Group's Director Steve Nerem freely admitted that the group has been adding 0.3mm to each annual set of numbers. That sounds miniscule, but bear with me ...

The reason for this falsification of the data is this: The Earth's land masses are actually rising up out of the sea, part of the normal plate mechanics that govern our Earth's composition, mechanics that take place over hundreds of thousands of years. This rising actually causes the world's oceans to be able to hold more liquid water (as opposed to frozen water). Eco-Nazis running the center decided to cancel this rising effect out of their measurements, because it made their measurements not show what they wanted them to show.

Add .3mm to each year's measurement, and you cancel out a completely natural phenomenon, and make your presentation look more dramatic.

.3mm does not sound like much, and if you're talking about a square inch of water surface, it is not. .3mm applied to the world's oceans is one hell of a lot of phantom water. .3mm is 3 times the actual, measured rising rate. So, Mr. Nerem and his buds believe that it is perfectly fine to overstate their findings by 300% in order to prop up their eco-emergency crap.

Eco-nazis and their rich fat cat supporters refer to this type of lying as agreed upon scientific fact - fact that cannot be challenged.

Sorry, it's just a lie.

Those Silly Canadians ...

Canadians take their hockey seriously. It's popularity rivals that of football here in the US.

Canadians have been pissed off for years that several of their pro hockey teams packed up and moved south of the border. This year, they were going to get some revenge. The Vancouver Canucks played the Boston Bruins for the Stanley Cup.

The hard fought series went down to game 7, where the Canucks suffered a meltdown and lost 4-0.

Vancounver is kind of like closeby Seattle. Kind of laid back, liberal leaning - really a beautiful city. It sure turned ugly after the loss, however.

Riots. Burning, overturned Police cars. Smashed windows, looted stores.

I was taken aback by the photos of the carnage, which showed mostly clean cut young people in hockey jerseys going nuts and taking videos of themselves.

You just have to wonder how much of this was true anger at the team letting them down, and how much was it a bunch of a*holes looking for an excuse to destroy stuff.

Way to go, Canada. Nice sportsmanship, eh?

Michelle's Whopper

and other whoppers being told by our First Lady ...

Michelle Obama is currently on a fund raising tour of California. Her staff managed to squeeze in two 'official First Lady' events between four high dollar Democrat fundraisers, in order to have the taxpayer foot the bill for the entire trip. Ms. Obama's office was contacted by more than one news organization, asking for a summation of how much the trip was costing us. Her office has declined to respond. I wonder why?

This kind of crap has been going on for decades - it is not an Obama invention. However, the two of them seem to have taken the absurdity of it to new levels. We are paying for them to travel to events that generate millions of dollars in donations for Democrat campaigns - and the amount of money we are shelling out for it is not at all trivial.

Ms. Obama attended a $1000 a plate lunch fundraiser in Southern CA yesterday, sponsored by the Southern California Women for Obama organization - whatever the hell that is. News reports states that over 500 people paid for a plate, the majority of which were African-American women.

During her speech, Obama alluded to her husband's work ethic:

"He reads every word, every memo, so that he is better prepared than the people who are briefing him. This man doesn't take a day off."

OK, the first part of that statement would be correct even if President Obama was merely awake during his briefings - the brain dead idiots he has surrounded himself with just don't have a clue what is going on.

The second part ... seriously?

Barack Obama - the President documented to have taken more vacations, more fund raising trips, more trips to junk food outlets, than any other President in history, AND who has played more than 70 rounds of golf in a little over two years - hasn't taken a day off?

Good God ... this man has taken more days off in less than two and a half years than I have in my entire work career (and that's approaching three decades).

And that is Michelle Obama's idea of a committed work ethic? Maybe it is ... if you are a far left socialist ...

6/26 Update - Obama racked up his 75th round of golf since taking office yesterday.

I wonder ... are we, the taxpayers, paying his greens fees? If so, eliminating his frequent trips tot he links would take a huge chunk out of the deficit!

Weiner's New Job

I have a serious suggestion for Rep. Weiner. I think you ought to run for the position of Chairman of the Democrat National Committee. Your qualifications make you perfect to lead the modern Democrat Party.

Justice Served ... Mavericks Style!

Mr. James, would you care to issue a retraction at this point?

GO MAVS!

Proud to be a SAR

I am proud to be able to say that I am now a SAR - Son of the American Revolution.

I have a proven bloodline that traces back to a Patriot who was involved in the American Revolution.

I have to thank my Uncle for digging this up, and submitting me for membership. I admit that if he hadn't pursued it as part of his fascination with geneaology, I would have never known about it.

I have to also thank that relative from long ago, whose name I had never heard until recently, who lived in Virginia. Thanks to you, I have a tangible link to the struggle that gave birth to this nation. That is kind of humbling ... I must say.

Does this make me any better than anyone else? Oh, hell no. But it does make me proud!

Weiner-Gate - The Global Phenom

The incredible number of hits I've gotten due to my Weiner post below led me to do some digging. I've gotten hundreds of hits per day, all from internet searches keying on "Weiner", or "Weiner-gate", or 'Rep. Weiner".

It is clear that people all over the world are scouring the internet for anything they can find on this scandal. I've gotten hits from places as far flung as Qatar, Singapore, both Koreas, most of the South American countries, all over Europe, among others.

Now, I don't attribute this to te popularity of my blog - I'm not nearly that vain! It's simply because the title of that posting causes it to appear in a lot of seartch engines, especially Google (the parent of this Blog site).

What I have found curious is the number of hits I have received from inside the US Government, particularly the House of Representatives. While I cannot tell what office the traffic is coming from, I can tell you this ...

Note the number of 'Reactions' to the post that disagree with it (4 at the time of this post). At the time of each of those disagreements, someone from the US House of Representatives was viewing that post.

I have no way to prove it, but I suspect that someone from Mr. Weiner's office, or operatives working for other Democrat members of the House, are actively searching the internet during business hours to find negative reactions to Weiner's situation, and doing whatever they can to fight it.

It won't happen, but it would be nice for an investigation to take place, to see how much tax payer money is being spent illegally by Democrats in Congress and their staff members to wage this (losing) campaign against the negative reaction to Rep. Weiner. It would be easy to do - computer records of all Federally owned computers are property of the government, and it would be a crime for anyone to try and erase their tracks.

My advice to anyone from Mr. Weiner's office who is out there wasting their time (and committing a crime by doing it from a government owned computer and on government time) trying to change the tide of public opinion through such pathetic acts as disagreeing with me, is that you would be better served sending out your resume and looking for a new job. Your boss ain't gonna be your boss for much longer!

Best Legal System In The World, but ...

Mr. Charles Payne is on trial for his life in Dallas.

He is accused of Capital Murder in the shooting death of Dallas Police Senior Corporal Norm Smith.

Mr. Payne admits to pulling the trigger and firing the shot through his front door that killed Cpl. Smith. At the time, Cpl. Smith and other Police officers were storming into Mr. Payne's house, serving a warrant.

Mr. Payne's defense is that he never heard anyone identify themselves as Police either before, or after the door was broken down. Another Police office who was present at the incident testified under oath that he never heard anyone identify themselves as Police prior to the violent entry through the front door.

It is legal in Texas to shoot an intruder in self defense. In these days, if you are not prepared to defend yourself and your family against intruders, especially in certain neighborhoods, you are just asking to be robbed, raped, or murdered. Home intrusions in heavily minority sections of the city are almost nightly occurences.

The defendant is black. The officer was white.

The officer's death is a tragedy, one that hurt the City of Dallas and his family. From the defendant's testimony, it has hurt him and his family as well. Mr. Payne has repeatedly apologized in public for what happened.

With the conflicting evidence, there is no way to know for certain what the defendant believed was happening as he pulled the trigger. Was he shooting a Police Officer, or was he defending himself and his family from a home invasion?

It will be interesting to see how the jury responds to the case. One can only hope and pray that justice is done, though Mr. Payne will be the only one who truly knows for certain.

Update - The jury found Mr. Payne guilty of First Degree Murder. He will not face the death penalty, but may spend the rest of his life behind bars.

The jury is still in the punishment phase, so no comments from them. My guess is that they reached a compromise in their own minds. They weren't going to let a cop killer go, no matter what the circumstances, but there was enough doubt there to keep them from executing Mr. Payne.

Several details came out in the testimony that bear scrutiny.

Cpl. Smith's wife is a Lt. in the Dallas Police Department.

The team serving the warrant was after someone else, Mr. Payne's cousin. The team got the names mixed up, and were serving the warrant to the wrong person at the wrong address. Mr. Payne had no criminal record, and wasn't wanted for anything.

Cpl. Smith got Mr. Payne to open the door slightly by using a false name, and did not identify himself as a Police Officer. When Mr. Payne cracked the door open a bit to look, Cpl. Smith threw his weight against the door to break it in. Cpl. Smith was wearing black tactical gear, not a Police uniform. Mr. Payne threw his own weight against the door to try and block it, and fired 4 shots through the door. He was not in visual contact with Cpl. Smith when he pulled the trigger, there is no way he could have been aiming specifically at him.

The prosecution convinced the jury that Mr. Payne knew for certain he was shooting at a Police Officer who was operating in the line of duty. With so much doubt, with so much riding on what exactly Mr. Payne was thinking at the time, I cannot understand how the jury reached this verdict given all the information that was presented.

As I said above, I hope that justice has been served. Mr. Payne knows - no one else does.

Update II - Charles Payne was sentenced to spend the rest of his life behind bars, the harshest punishment allowed for the conviction. The jury had leeway to give him anywhere from 2 years to life.after they convicted him.

This is a chilling result. It tells me that if I shoot someone dressed head to toe in black, who refuses to identify themselves, and who violently breaks into my house, I have to somehow prove he is not a Police Officer before I pull the trigger. What am I to do - call timeout and ask to see their identification?

Sheriff Joe Needs To Be Put In The Slammer

Obama the Immaculate proclaimed that Joe Biden was the new Sheriff in town, a fiscal hawk that would watch over our tax dollars with a fine tooth comb. He went so far as to proclaim that 'no one messes with Joe' during a State of the Union speech - in direct reference that Obama had put Biden in charge of looking after how stimulus money was being spent. Biden received a standing ovation from Congress at that proclamation.

So, how is Sheriff Joe doing?

An AP report from a few weeks ago paints one small part of a horrendously bleak picture ...

3700 US companies and Federal contractors who were delinquent in their Federal tax bill received money from Obama's stimulus.

These 3700 companies owed more than $757,000,000 dollars in back taxes.

These 3700 companies received a total of over $24,000,000,000 in Federal stimlus funds from Obama.

S0 - we the taxpayers paid the back taxes for these tax cheats, and gave them a huge profit on top of it.

How does that make you feel? Do you think Obama would give you a handsome profit for being delinquent in your taxes?

The AP report did not mention any of the companies or entities involved. I do not know if this is because they couldn't get that information, or if they deliberately chose to not publish what is probably a lengthy list of Unions and Democrat campaign contributors.

Also mentioned was that only 13 of these 3700 companies are currently under investigation for possible misuse of taxpayer money.

Given that Biden was in charge of overseeing this, I think he ought to be held acocuntable.

I truly wish Republican leadership in the House would launch an investigation and tell us exactly where all of Obama's stimulus went to. Tell us who got how much, and for what. I'd push for release at the end of next summer, right before election season.

Dr. Death Departs

Now we learn of the natural, unassisted death of Dr. Jack Kevorkian, the physician who became famous as Dr. Death for helping terminally ill folks end their own lives.

I'm not going to address the controversy over what he did or why. I admit to having conflicted opinions on that.

What I will address is the paradox I am hearing in the media over his passing. Some Mightier Than Thou pundits are passing judgement on him and the evil, immoral thing he did. I have heard some of those same pundits in the past proclaim their total support for abortion rights.

For those folks specifically, I have a question. How can you believe it to be morally and legally wrong to help a terminally ill person end their life by their own choice, and at the same time believe it is perfectly moral and legal to end a life at its very start, not by their choice?

Weiner's Weiner Starring In Weiner-Gate

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) is an A*hole.

He is an abusive, abrasive, in your face far left kook Democrat in the House of Representatives. He has been recorded shouting insults at his collegues on the House floor. He is one of the most combative Democrats around. He has been steadily climbing the Democrat ladder in the HOuse, where his socialist style fits in perfectly with the Obama mantra. Weiner has been quick to attack any Republican person or idea, no matter what the subject. He was one of Pelosi's favorite attack dogs.

Rep. Weiner is caught up in what should be a major scandal, after a lewd photo of himself appeared to be sent to a woman through his Twitter account.

So, Weiner takes a picture of his erect junk on his cell phone. Why would he do that, if he's not going to send it to someone? Maybe he's going to have it printed and frame it for his wall? Maybe he thinks it will be a good wallpaper? There is no explanation that is not perverted or creepy.

According to Weiner, someone supposedly hacks into his Twitter account, surfs around on his cell phone, finds the picture, and sends it to someone - not just a someone but a female someone. Supposedly this has been done by a political enemy trying to embarass him. Right ... Dude, do you expect anyone to seriously accept that?

Weiner takes the high ground and doesn't involve law enforcement. He hires a private security person to investigate, obstensibly to save taxpayer dollars. Bullshit alert! In reality, if he had involved law enforcement, and it turns out he did all this himself, he'd be up for criminal charges for filing a false police report.

By the way ... Weiner is married.

You know the biggest damn shame of this? No one is going to care. He's a Democrat, a far left kook fringe fly off the handle lunatic Democrat. Behaviour like this is not only accepted, but applauded by the people who vote for him. This will not harm him. No one is going to try and force him to resign over this.

If Weiner was Republican, what do you think would happen to him? I'll tell you ... he would have already been forced to resign, the main stream media would have him front and center in an all out assault on another Republican pervert scandal, and Democrat leadership would be using it to attack everything Republican to take the focus away from their failures. Since he's a Democrat, ain't no big thing ... (that's what she said!)

Update - Another woman has come forward with claims that she and Weiner had an on-line 'relationship' in which they exchanged messages and intimate photographs. IF this is true, then this man should be run out of Congress immediately.

Update - So, he now admits everything. He admits to the photos, and hundreds of emails, twitters, and phone calls. He lied to us. He lied to us in an official capacity. He stood up and cried for the cameras, and took questions for 27 minutes. Mainstream media are fawning over him, admiring his honesty and for being a stand up guy for admitting to it. He refuses to resign, stating that his personal issues have nothing to do with his official capacity.

Where is the outrage over this? C'mon, Ms. Pelosi - why aren't you front and center demanding his resignation? After all, you were going to drain the swamp, weren't you? OH ... I forgot ... that only applied to Republicans ...

You know, this is going to become a badge of honor for him, just like getting a Lewinski is a badge for Clinton.

Update - Well, Democrats are now turning on Weiner like a bunch of rats jumping away from, well, another rat. Dems from Harry Reid on down are distancing themselves from him, offering no support, and is some cases calling for him to resign.

On the surface, one might think that they are just doing the right thing, expressing their displeasure with a colleague who has disgraced himself and Congress.

However, when you look further into it, you see their true motivation. The public backlash over this incident is embarrassing Dems, and creating a negative focus point. They can't stand that, and they can't afford it as a distraction. They can't risk having this drag out in a Republican led House Ethics Committee investigation. Even though he is one of their Golden Kook attack dogs in Congress, they're going to throw him under the bus in order to save their own skins. Admirable, in their minds ...

Update - All the Dems are begging for Weiner to go away. So far, he won't do it, Apparently he thinks going to counseling will get him off the hook.

As bad as this idiot is, the longer he hangs around, the better for Republicans. As much as I want to see this guy flushed down a toilet, we would be better served if he manages to hang around until the 2012 election season.
